********** Contains Spoilers**********

Review only posted on Amazon and Goodreads because it isn’t available on BookBub - I’ve read this book, and series multiple times since purchased back in 2017 but have never gotten around to posting a review so here goes. It’s been 14 years since the engineered kids were rescued from the institute, the Collector was k*lled and Lexi was adopted by Claire and Damien. Lexi has been hidden for years, and home schooled but she’s being made to go to human high school which she’s really not happy about as she knows everything. It doesn’t help that when she walks into she has a moment with a guy, and the girl whose behind him is a b*tch to Lexi. She goes to leave but the guy follows her, and ends up taking her car keys so she has to go to school, and she has to find him at the end of the day to get her keys back. He enjoys teasing her. Lexi tries to use her powers to locate him but for some reason she can’t see his future.

I thought that this book dragged a bit in some places. Connor and Lexi are interested in each other but because who and what Lexi is, she knows that nothing can happen between them even if they start to really like each other. Lexi is annoyed that her dad is listening into her conversation so in her anger she uses her powers to shut down all her trackers, and messes with the schools bell and then her and Connor end up leaving and going to the movies. They end up getting held up at g*n point and Lexi uses her power to cause pain, even though its not obvious Connor asks what she did to them and Lexi freaks and asks a ship to pick her up. Connor thinks that Lexi has magical powers, and is a fairy or something so the furthest thing from an alien. I thought Lexi and Connor were cute together.

I enjoyed meeting Lexi’s friends and other engineered kids Ashe Ashe (jumps through time) and Lana Lana (an empath) as they’re total friendship goals. I loved how Lexi, Ashe and Lana use their powers to get Lexi’s new friend Maddie’s and Connor’s cousin’s r*pist to confess to the crime. He r*ped her when she was 13 years old, but due to a lack of evidence he got away with it. They all used their powers to completely mess with his mind, and also saying that they’re angels of vengeance and they’ll stop the torment if he finally tells the truth about what he’d done. Man, Jackie is really annoying, especially where Connor and Lexi is concerned. Hopefully she’ll finally get with the programme and stop being so obsessed with him but I don’t really think that’s going to happen anytime soon lol. I’m looking forward to reading the next book especially after reading the epilogue. I’d definitely recommend this book, series and author.

Astrid's Description: Allow me to tell you, once again, everything that has happened in the previous books. But it comes from a new character, so that means it's okay, right?

Look, I will not lie, I got to chapter fifteen and was done with reading a book that was basically a recap of everything in the previous books. I was especially sick of it due to the authors lack of betterment in her writing. Most of the book was long-winded and unnecessary. A good example of what I am talking about is in chapter fifteen the characters come up with a plan that would take place three or four days later. Sixty-eight pages, and three chapters, later, when you finally get to the last chapter, they follow through with the plan. Then the book ends. Was there anything absolutely vital in those three chapters, not anything that couldn't have been done in six pages and one chapter. So you literally spend the entire book being reminded of what you already know, and then when you get to the new stuff, it ends. It was an absolute waste of time.

At this point, I am sick and tired of all the copying and pasting and explaining (if you are reading this on Goodreads, I wrote a review for all of the previous books). So just pretend that everything I have already touched on with the previous books, has been proven again for this one.

I am officially never doing this series, or author, again.

Now it's Lexi's turn

There are a couple of things about this book that makes it feel a bit different then the rest of the novels. First, the editing. Or more the lack there of a professional editor. It's not too bad, but it shows and if that sort of thing drives you up the wall, you may want to wait for an updated version of the novel. Second is this book reaches an immediate ending but it felt more like a cliffhanger.

This is lexi's story and while we have dealt with super powered people in previous novels, Sarah had a real challenge on her hands with Lexi since she is way beyond any other character. She does a good job of giving her some challenges that are believable, including the feeling of being so different that we had with Claire. I didn't really connect with Lexi the way I did Claire. I did love seeing where all our favorites from previous novels are at. This was my least favorite love interest. Just seemed a little bland or done before. All that said, I still couldn't stop reading until I reached the end.

Great great great

Such a great read. I'm not a fan of books that like there being narrated but I really enjoy this auto style of writing
