His name was Francis Binckley. He was small and round and quick to smile. It was difficult for anyone to think of him as unfriendly. And that was a mistake. Binckley was a railroad detective; he always got his man - or men. He had been trailing the Morgans ever since the train robbery...and the bank hold-ups in Joplin, Leavenworth, Jefferson City.
Now it was Hyattville, a little town with a big bank. The Morgans knew The Hyattville First National Bank: they also knew that the town had grown careless from too many years of peace and prosperity.
In fact the Morgans knew everything about Hyattville - except that Binckley was there, ahead of them, for the first time.
This was a really good book. It's about a group of bank and train robbing brothers that bungle a bank job and their flight from a relentless railroad detective and town posse.
To me, this is a classic western. It is told by a person that can really write a compelling story with characters that have depth, motivations and true feelings.
