Williamsburg Brooklyn New York...

A neighborhood so few know about. The history, the people, the food and the birth of the American Mafia in Brooklyn. In their own words, the people tell what it was like in an era long gone. A time when sitting on the stoop and good conversation was a pastime, a handshake meant trust and respect was earned.

A rare once in a lifetime account of a neighborhood forever changed in history.

After a long career as a behavioral veterinary primatologist traveling the world, I decided to tap into my second career choice from college. Creative writing, because everyone has a story to tell, and who doesn't love a good story. My first two books, a cookbook memoir, and a historical novella paid homage to Williamsburg Brooklyn, and the people that made it what it is today. How it evolved from immigration to modernization. Eight extraordinary individuals came together to tell their stories about growing up in Brooklyn during a time of trolly cars and the pre-WWII era. Then came along my children's series where the characters are real-life dogs! One little guy, a character named Road Rage Willie became a rising star in the spotlight. The National Ambassador Against Childhood Bullying, Willie became quite the celebrity with magazines, newspapers, television appearances, and the President. My latest novella, Tell Me, believe it or not, was inspired by my husband and his friends from a bar in Pennsylvania. Goes to show how authors can be inspired and create a story around life. It's been a great ride so far and I encourage authors to keep writing because each story should take you places you've never been and teach you what you never knew. You can find all of my writings on Amazon and my website, authorpcmarotta.com
Keep in touch, a new novella, The Storytell will be coming out this year. A suspenseful murder/mystery you won't want to miss.
