What if fairies were real... and they weren't very nice... When Rebecca is brutally murdered, somehow, she is reborn as a new creature. She is no longer human, but knows nothing of the Fae. Will she be an instrument of revenge, or a healing force? And will the Fae let her make that choice anyway... Tom Hayes is a laid back Sydney homicide detective; he doesn't believe in fairy tales. So how did three men turn to ash and what is the mysterious green light that seems to be following him? Can Rebecca learn to control her new powers and help Tom to catch her killer before they strike again? If you like urban fantasy mingled with dark fairy folklore, you'll love Filigree Rings and Other Fae Things.
Rhonda was raised in Bega, New South Wales; a small dairy town near the east coast of Australia. She spent most of her youth barefoot and tanned roaming the farms and beaches in the region and developing a love of plants, animals and nature itself. After school, she moved to Canberra to work and study and still lives there with her family and her pet chooks.

This just goes to show you, you can't judge a book buy it's cover. I was expecting a light read on faeries, instead I got a gritty murder mystery. Kudos to the author for keeping my interest throughout the story. I found the authors portrayal to be different than other previous stories of the Fae that I have become used to. Overall an interesting read.
Filigree Rings and Other Fae Things by R.M.Selg is a wonderful story to read by a brand new author I never read before. This is book number one in the series, I am so glad I read this story. I fell in love with the characters and the wonderful story line I can not wait for book number two to come out.
