I wanted more Future World. The pacing felt rushed. It was like one page Superman and Cyborg are in trouble, the next page everything is better. I want a little more cause and effect in my children's stories.
The art was really good and my son liked it.

Very young children would like this. Parents can talk about the vocabulary words used in the story and the definitions at the end. I did like the artwork. I wish there had been more.

The Amazing Adventures of Superman! Escape from Future World! by Yale Stewart and DC Comics
Summary - Superman heads to S.T.A.R. Labs in Metropolis to take a new look at the time machine. His hero friend, Cyborg, shows up for a check-up. But wait! The evil Braniac appears and zaps Superman and Cyborg into the future--a future where Braniac is in charge! Our heroes do some super stuff, find the time machine, and end up transported back to their time. They defeat Brainiac. The end.
Ages 5-7
This DC comic is fun. Colorful illustrations. Good story, sets a great pace for early readers. Other bonus features are the puzzle to decode at the back, a list of other titles in the series, an author bio and a glossary defining some of the more challenging vocabulary.

The Amazing Adventures of Superman! is a new set for advanced beginning readers. There are three chapters, but they consist of short sentences with mostly familiar vocabulary as well as lots of illustrations. The story itself is not complex but readers will devour the books as they strengthen their reading abilities.

The stories are scant, but the packaging is attractive and this series will satisfy those beginning readers who love superheroes but are not yet equipped to handle graphic novel versions of the tales. I expect these titles to be very popular with my Kindergarten-2nd set.
