The colorful photographs inside this book will blow you away. The dishes that are shown from around the world are interesting to say the least. Children who reads this book will either giggle or be completely grossed out. I appreciated reading about new cuisines and I am sure those who read this, will too. I would recommend this book to 3rd through 5th grade students because of the photos of food that may be considered gross.

This book will have a lot of appeal and is very informative. Foods from around the world are pictured in full color and described in detail. The part of the world they are popular in is also provided. Categories where the foods are most likely to be enjoyed such as far-out foods, bizarre breakfasts, loony lunches, strange suppers, surprising snack, and wacky desserts and treats are given for additional information. Further understanding and study can be found in the glossary, suggested reading materials, internet sites, and index which are included in the back of the book. There are approximately forty seven foods described from Argentina to Zimbabwe providing a substantial amount and variety. This is a great addition to the Library of Weird series.
