Read for my PhD and useful to me in that respect, Stott was a very important woman in the field of journalism and for the women’s lib movement. Still this is certainly not a book that is palatable to modern readers - both in her old fashioned views and the books messy structure. Glad to have read it though, people don’t have to align with our contemporary perspective to have been an important in theirs. Stott was one woman who helped women get to a point where we could expand our viewpoint beyond her own (something she ~does~ tentatively interrogate in her analysis of the issues facing women in the 1970s when the book was written and in the past),
