Tom grew up in a small town, and at thirteen he figured out what he really was.
A Necromancer.
For much of his life, that didn’t make much of a difference, and he didn’t see any real benefit in it, until one day in his third year of college a young woman catches his eye. One that is haunted by a ghost, and not just one, every time he sees her she has a new spectral passenger he winds up banishing. Fascinated, he decides to investigate further, and a whole new world opens up for him. A world that isn’t so nice.
If he’d known just how deep that rabbit hole went, he might have stayed away…
I've been an avid book reader since I was a teenager in the 1980's. My preferred genre's are science fiction and fantasy.
I wrote some short stories and was encouraged to try writing and self publishing by some friends. I work in computers and writing is an obsessive hobby I have been trying to hone for a couple of years now. I'll let you judge if I have succeeded or not.
"God, that was bloody awkward. I might as well have handed her a note with yes and no check boxes."
3.5/5.0 Another series by D.L. Harrison, this time I think I really found his strength, and that is it lies in urban fantasy. I've enjoyed this one as well as his power of air series more than his books involving science fiction or traditional fantasy. This one shares many similarities in plot and theme structure as POA. I enjoyed the series but had much the same problems as well, quality of writing is still not fully realized and repetition of certain words and phases do grate a little bit. Certain areas were hard to understand because of lack of explanation and word usage. Overall a decent and fun read. If you are familiar with the author I would give this a go.
