Secret Diary
Confessions of a Kinky Divorcee
When Debs discovers her husband is having an affair with a woman she finds herself attracted to, it makes her question her very self ...A marriage and husband behind her, Deb's journey of sensual discovery begins in earnest. Confessing her escapades to her fur-covered diary, "Kitten," Deb dates and experiments with both women and men, and takes her love of shoes to a whole new level. But when she starts obsessing over her new tenant, Janey Prince, a college student who is researching the history of the stiletto, Debs draws ever closer to totally crossing the line in her sexual preferences. Despite the pitfalls, and risks, and an ex husband who wants to get back into her life, it seems other women combined with her lust for shoes make the perfect fit. Other titles in the Secret Diary series are: Confessions of a Kinky Wife by Justine Elyot Confessions of a Naughty Night Nurse by Lily Harlem Confessions of a Greedy Girl by Madelynne Ellis

Very erotic in places and builds the tension nicely. The characters were vivid and sexy. Thank-you!

Lana Fox's Confessions of a Kinky Divorcee is intelligent erotica. Full of self-discovery, same-sex longing, and stilettos, it also makes time to fully develop its characters, and to consider the high heel as a culturally significant artifact as well as the object of a fetish.
That's significant, coming from me. I'm someone who has dismissed high heels as oppressive, much like the tiresome professor whose lecture Janey is listening to early in the story. I've even compared extreme heels to footbinding.
So it's remarkable that Fox won me over. I already knew quite a bit of the history of the high heel (including that they were once a men's fashion), but this put it into a different context for me. Of course heels limit movement - but a freely chosen limitation can be inspiring and even empowering.
If that doesn't make sense to you, just read the book. Fox does a great job of distinguishing between an objectifying fetish... and one that can be a vibrant way of loving the person in the shoes (or other kink).
The sex itself is occasionally a bit over-the-top, with perhaps a few too many multiple orgasms and an overuse of wetness to describe arousal, but each scene is distinctive and feels appropriate to Debs' developing awareness and acceptance of her sexuality.
Lastly, Fox handles consent and personal boundaries appropriately (and unobtrusively), something I've stated to feel needs noting because so many romantic and erotic works fail on this front.
Stilettos will probably never be a turn on for me personally, but while reading Confessions of a Kinky Divorcee, I had no trouble appreciating the role they played in the story.

Erotic fiction with mesmerizing sex and a meaning? It's true, and if this is any indicator of the future of erotica, I'm settling in and preparing for a wild ride.
In Confessions, we read over the shoulder of Debs as she journals every detail of her day: some saddening (that's where the "divorcee" part comes in), others hilarious, and most intensely erotic and obsessive in the sexiest way possible. And it's this combination--of heartbreak, humor, and desire--that makes Debs incredibly likeable and identifiable. You are on her side from the first line she writes. And in the end? Well, there could be no better outcome.
The sex is hot, inventive, and masterfully written. And Debs has lots of it, with both men and women. But what was most surprising was the way Fox subtly spun Debs' coming-out story, and not once did it feel contrived or overbearing or cliché.

Absolutely loved this book. Its intelligent, laugh out loud erotica. And the sex and romance are hot hot hot.

I was not impressed with this book only because the way it was in the journaling. I wanted to like it and don't get me wrong it was good if the "Kitten" stuff would have been left out. That just killed it for me. With as many times as she would put kitten in her journaling. I as an adult wrote in a journal and I never addressed it as anything and even if I would have I wouldn't have said over and over and over again. I think at one point I read it so many times in a few paragraphs I almost put the book down and walked away. It was written 180 times in the book. I just wish that would have been left out. But that is my opinion.

A fun read for those who wonder what might happen to the woman who's husband has left her for a younger woman. The protagonist clearly has a shoe fetish and manages to interact with a few other people who have similar interests before settling on a partner who is writing a dissertation about high heels.

This was a wonderfull surprise and quite a refreshing read but, if you are disturbed by kinky sex and fetish, I would reccomend to stay out of it.
This book is short, light, hilarious and sexy. This is not a masterpiece, mind you, but the book seems to accomplish what the author was looking for, a refreshing light read.
