In a few days, another man would make her his. She would be vowing to spend the rest of her life as another man’s wife, and, for some twisted reason, they wanted to do it with me as a witness. I’d been lured into sitting there and watching another man claim my woman, a fact I was having a hard time reconciling. I’d been a good sport so far, but how much can a brother take before he breaks?
This girl loves a good book--especially books that suck you into the pages and take you to new worlds, providing a much needed break from the everyday hustle. I'm obsessed with happily ever after and feel good romances that serve up a strong dose of reality.
Boy, Monty has finally found someone to heal his heart. Lissa's heart has been just as damaged as Montie's from her last relationships. They seem to be what each other needs for the healing they both desperately need.
I hate that Montie was drawn into Justine's batsh*t crazy. It seems that the Apple didn't fall far from the tree. It seems her mother has unrealistic expectations too and she is the real reason why Justine is the way she is.
I can understand Destiny being mad with Jacob, but he forgave her indiscretion. Why can't she forgive him. Her acts were intentional and his was accidental through Justine's trickery.
This story was a complicated plot about complicated emotions that the author wrote in a realistic entertaining manner. The emotions of how Montie felt was realistically portrayed as a divorced father dealing with his ex on parental involvement. Shani managed to keep my attention in this book from beginning to end. I just wish that Destiny and Jacob can get beyond the Justine debacle. I guess that's going to be in the next book.
Montie gets it together, and then Destiny falls apart. I know a week may have seem like a rush for Montie to find love, but I don't care if it was but a day. He was drowning in book 3, ready to go over the edge, and take somebody with him. I can say I wish Justine had the same chance at love as Montie, but a toxic familial relationship made sure she stood no chance. As for Jacob, what the ever loving huff!!! I knew his secret was going to come back to bite in the butt, but I get the feeling Destiny isn't going anywhere.
I gotta admit, I thought this story would be about revenge (not to give much away lol) but this book took a turn to show how much Montie is a hardworking Black man that made a mistake and learned from it. I love how the author shows a realistic view of what happens after a divorce and finding love again. Great Job Shani!!
The adventures of Destiny and Jacob plus Justine now pulling Montie into her vengeance twist is enough to keep you on the edge of your seat. Then comes Lissa. I wish her and Montie the best. This was a well written book that I truly enjoyed. So ready for the next one.
I know that this is Montie and Lissa's story but I just have to say that I am so glad that Justine is gone. I am so glad that Montie and Lissa healed each other. I loved their story. I can't wait for Breathless 5
Glad that Montie and Lissa found true happiness together. Their story seemed to take a backseat to the latest version of Justine's madness. Hopefully, Breathless 5 will conclude this series and bring happiness back to the lives of Jacob and Destiny.
This book was full of surprises and twist Justine disguised herself with a different name to be with Montie to get to the wedding of Jacob and Destiny. Was not happy with how Justine snuck into Jacob and Destiny's house and she slept with him and told Montie. I love the fact that Montie found love.
Montie's story didn't leave me "Breathless" as books 1-3 did. I am still stuck on how he was STILL stuck on Destiny his EX-WIFE. Even when she is set to MARRY Jacob, the man Montie LOST Destiny too. Man LET IT & HER GO already. Then he is duped by Jacob's crazy ex Justine (how is she still even in these books anyway?) who is still bent on trying to get Jacob back? Huh, really? After you nearly kill his woman AND was given a break by being put in a mental hospital instead if prison? Well she finally landed there (thank God) and Montie did move on and found someone he could love, that's my reason for giving 3 stars. Still I hate the fact Destiny and Jacob are estranged once again by crazy Justine's antics, she (Destiny) couldn't forgive his transgression (it happened while they were NOT together and under false pretense). Plus he forgave her for sleeping with Montie while they were apart... I'm pretty sure she knows that woman is crazy. I am hoping book 5 will be the absolute FINALE to this series.
A bit rushed but pleasantly surprised that Montie isn’t a complete a-hole and finally meets another woman worthy of his attention although this novella was so short that the love story between him and Lissa wasn’t very convincing. He can’t really be over Destiny that quickly. The end of this book is really a bit nuts too but we’ll see where things go in Breathless 5, Loving Jacob. I’m ready to get back to our main characters’ story.
Wow Justine is really deranged. It was interesting to get Montie 's side of things. I didn't really like Lissa she was a bit annoying, but I'm glad Montie got his HEA. I also think Destiny is a bit hypocritical in regard to Jacob and Justine. Guess we will see what happens next.
Out of the 4 books I’ve read so far in the Breathless series, this one, book 4 is the best one yet. It’s mainly about two people, Montie and Lissa: broken-hearted and hurt by betrayals in relationships, learning to trust and love again. Though the fact that Lissa resembles his ex-wife, Destiny has me thinking 🤔 about Montie.
I felt like this book was rushed. He's in love with his ex and less than a week later he can't live without his new love.......come on!!!! That's just a little bit to quick.
It appears you have done it again. I'm not going to lie, I almost didn't want to read about Monty, but you pulled me in. I love the story and I cannot wait for Breathless 5 to come out. You are awesome! Thank you for sharing your gift with all of us.
