Ok so the title was catchy for me, Jury of One. But the read was okay. The author (Mignon G Eberhart)came highly recommended.

After researching the author, I noticed all her novels have catchy titles.

I hope this novel was an isolated incident.

But back to my review, and here it goes.

So you have a young lady engaged 💍 to a man who comes from money 💰.

She believes she's always been in love with him. Ever since she was a little girl.

You see they all grew up together in the same town.

He and his sister Clare went away to college, but came back home 🏡 when his father became ill & died.

Leaving him (Kirk) to pick up the pieces and get the company out the red.

Or does he really???? Get the company out the red.

It's the day before the wedding, and the brides ex-boyfriend comes back to town.

Drama???? Perhaps....

But in keeping up appearances, the groom (kirk) has a get together at the house.

It's was raining previously, so the river behind their house is still high & fast in the middle.

But Kirk suggests that he, Lydia, & Ralph go canoeing.

WTF... now mind you, Kirk can't swim. But Ralph is an expert swimmer 🏊‍♂️, & Lydia can hold her own

Needless to say, the canoe capsized.

Everyone somehow makes it to shore but Ralph.

Now, what's really going on.

Lydia is rescued & once she's on shore states "he tried to kill me!"

What!!!!! is she just hysterical from the incident because 2 people (Maggy & Josh) has heard her say this.

Now this is where the story starts to get interesting.

I won't spoil it for you.

I'm going to give Mignon another try.

I'm going to read Another Man's Murder by Mignon G Eberhart.

No worries, because I'm going to be honest

So.... until

Happy Reading 📚!!!!

Wedding bells are set to ring for Maggy, but when a fatal accident happens, tendrils of suspicion start to unfurl until the wedding, even the very life of those involved, seems threatened…

As usual, an intriguing mix of obvious and surprising elements, a puzzle to solve, with both clues and psychological elements all wrapped up in suspense, mystery and romance. Truly a fun read, in which one becomes invested in the lives and personalities of the characters.
