It read like a museum exhibition on pyrography. I liked that it was different than current books on the subject. It was a good borrow from the library.

Just as the description describes, this book is from the 1970's. There are quite of few pictures both in color and black and white. Unfortunately, the detail is not that good. There is a list of the common woods to work with and they tell you why. You are reminded that the choice will be determined by the result you desire and what technique you are going to use. I am new to this craft and didn't know it made a difference before reading it here.

Composition and design are covered. The authors lightly touch base using other elements besides wood. If you are new to this craft, this is a good book for beginners to acquire some knowledge. If you have experience and are looking for refreshing ideas, try elsewhere.
