As I often work with children or in primary schools, I often read a lot of picture books. I never reviewed or commented on them until now. I have been encouraged to do so because of bookstagram. So here goes!

WHAT I LIKED ABOUT THIS:

- I love books that focus on Australian animals. It's so good for Australian children to learn more about the nature and wildlife around them.
- It does a good job of showing the beauty of Bowerbirds and their beautiful nests. I learned something new while reading this to the child and that always makes me happy.
- The child was happily engaged doing all the counting and it is a good one for children learning to count to ten.
- It showed the cycle of nature and of family.

WHAT COULD BE IMPROVED:
- The illustrations were a bit simple. They weren't very enrapturing and I don't think the child cared much about them either. He was mostly interested in the counting.

My Maternal & Child Health Nurse gave me this book for my 8 week birthday. Daddy read this to me and silly daddy used the voice and laugh of Count Dracula from Sesame Street. I gave him lots of smiles to show my appreciation. I really liked the red birds. I think red might be becoming my favorite colour.

I love this book and the follow up book on shapes.
My son was given this book as a gift for his 2nd birthday and loved the birds and the different objects that he sees outside often.

It was fun to be able to take him to the museum and see the Bower birds in real life. We saw Bill in the children's gallery, after we found the real Bill in the Forest walk.
We took our book with us and my son was able to match Bill in the book and Bill on the wall.

I love when a story of a species is introduced in a fun way. Makes the visit to zoo or aquarium much more exciting when you see it in action. The end of the book had real pictures with facts and information on the Bowerbird and its nest and babies.
