I could not put this book down. I read it in a few hours and wanted it to continue, just as I wanted Sarah's healing to continue in the story. I could relate to Sarah completely in her struggle to break free of H.B.'s control and manipulation. I am fortunate I was able to break free of a similar relationship in my past and and this story validates that we as women are not alone in the struggle. I hope there is a second book so we can learn more of Sarah's journey to the freedom and happiness that she so deserves!!
A quote from the book that really resonate with me since I had experienced abuse was, "The signs of emotional abuse are not always clear, because the abuser's behavior is not obvious, and the immediate results are not dramatic as in physical abuse, emotional abuse represents an oppressive and insidious process that strikes deeply at the heart of it's victims."
