Maurice Isserman received a B.A. in history from Reed College in 1973 and his Ph.D. in American history from the University of Rochester in 1979. He is Publius Virgilius Rogers Professor of American History at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York.
I was afraid this would read like a boring textbook… it did not! I really enjoyed exploring with Lewis and Clark. Learned so much, but told in an interesting straight forward way. I bought the book for my homeschooled middle schooler, but ended up reading it myself because it looked interesting.
