When you’re dealing with paranormal experiments labeled “Banshee” and “Night Walker” you have to believe things are going to get worse before they get better.

Sloan returns to New Hope a victor but at what cost? A death of one of their own weighs heavy on her shoulders. But things are about to get a lot worse, as in, the first ever werewolf is one of her friends, worse.

Trying to understand his new “condition” leads down a twisted rabbit hole to a group called the Order. A secret faction of elite citizens in New Hope who have taken it upon themselves to create the perfect soldiers, or what history will soon call, vampires.

Joined by her friends, Sloan fights against this new threat. But there can be no victory without sacrifice. Chalking up a win may mean Sloan transforming into something this world is only beginning to understand.

After reading the first book in this series, I just couldn't imagine how it could get any better. But I was wrong. From the very first paragraph the author had me drawn in. It was very clever how he developed the story throughout. I could hardly contain myself at times. This is one of those series that you only come across a handful of times in your life. A book you can't put down and wake up with it on your mind, wondering what the characters are up to. And throughout the years, you find yourself remembering certain parts and characters and just pondering on them like it was a place and people you knew. This happens when we have an author who is talented enough that his work touches our hearts with a scene because it's something that we've been through ourselves or a hero or family member that has died and we feel the pain from personal experience.

The cast of characters we loved during the first book have really grown and are continuing to do so. Aereth is something else. Amazing really. At the start of the book, we find him searching for answers about himself. Well, all his questions and some more we had about everything are answered. Throughout all this, other things are developing so we get to see a bigger picture of what is really going on. Who can you trust? Who is really good or really a bad guy? A life is changed but is it for the better? Sloan must choose a side to fight for as she also fights for her life and also her cohorts' lives. This book was real meaty, I loved it! There were some really funny parts. I know some parts are bloody and violent but these books are really clean enough for young adults to read.

Awesome book!

This one was even better than the first! I can't wait to read the next book House of Spells and find out how many books there will be total.

Enjoyable storyline

I have enjoyed the second part of this book series.
It's a good development within the characters, but Jack seems to be a bit weak in this part of the book, he still don't share his worries with the team, as well the communication could have been better, they always splitting up instead to work together. I thought this one was a bit predictable, I thought that there is something of with the Queen, because of her decisions. I wish there would be a bit more involvement within the people who live in New Hope. And a bit more from Edison and his inventions. The plot is still good and starting to taking shape. That the main characters get somehow infected with the virus. But I must say that it was a lot shorter than the first book.

WOW!!! NEVER A DULL MOMENT!!!

Every book I have read of Mr. Jonathan has been such exciting adventures. On to my 3rd book in this series! It's a close call but I think maybe I like this series a bit more than the Angel series but not to say it was great also! Short post but I'm so excited to start the 3rd book!! Thank you Mr. Jonathan for never giving up on what you love to do! Must be a great feeling knowing how much enjoyment your books give!

What a wild ride! Book one is a fairly straightforward adventure quest with a paranormal twist. You’d think book two would be “returning heroes have some minor adventures” but you’d be wrong. They all pretty much have their lives turned upside down by agents, double agents, and renegades from all sides. I really enjoyed this one but I’m also extra glad I don’t have to wait for book three to be published!

Intriguing read.......

I've been caught up in this series of the supernatural and the deceit of the Queen. I felt like I should have seen it coming. Sloan it's the only one who feels betrayed. Great characters with a somewhat chaotic storyline, and engaging plot. New reader to author Jonathan Yanez work due to my interest in only shape shifters and vamps lol

What an insane twist. I can't believe what has happened. First the first book made me sad and angry. Now the second book has me so irritated I want to scream. What has happened? How can so much betrayal and lies be justified?

Loving this series!

I love how I'm getting to see this alternative origin of many of the things that go bump in the night! If you love being surprised at every turn then this is the book for you!
