Silhouette I & II And Other Fiction published by Authorspress, edited by Reena Prasad, Michele Baron and Dr. AV Koshy, is one of its own kind of an anthology in the arena of contemporary Indian writing in English, featuring the International Reuel prize winning novella Eternal Links by Sunila Kamal, The Silhouette by Santosh Bakaya, The Silhouette Sequel by Dr. Ampat Koshy and a variegated assortment of short stories which speak directly to the heart.

As one reads one short fiction piece after the other in the collection and delves into 'Eternal Links', the novella with the impeccable storytelling and narration by Sunila Khemchandani Kamal, one begins to not only appreciate, but internalize the words of Neil Gaiman referred to by Dr. santosh Bakaya in the introduction to the book: ''Short stories are tiny windows into other worlds and other minds and other dreams. They are journeys you can make to the far side of the universe and still be back for dinner.'' Each of these stories I have read till now in the collection solidify this quote and there has never been a dull moment while reading it yet as each story comes with its own journey, its own ascending and descending points, its own rising and climax and waxing and waning moments.

As a reader engrossed in the beauty of storytelling that comes across in the collection, I can pinpoint my favorite stories read till now, but for now I would want to congratulate all the authors for doing their bit and adorning the compilation with their own distinctive fictional narrative pieces. So many characters, protagonists, and their inner travails, and such a dedicated and painstaking editing and compilation by the three esteemed editors who have also added their own little treasure troves of stories in the collection, enriching us readers and contributors. Thanks to Sudarshan Kcherry jee of Authorspress for coming out with such an avant-garde literary composition which now has its rightful place in the Library of Congress in USA.
