This book covers artificial intelligence concepts and uses C++ as the programming language of instruction.  Taking an AI search based approach, it includes implementations of an AI search library in C++ that is then used to build other AI systems using that search method.  These include theorem proving, heuristic search, and planning, knowledge representation, and natural language processing. The overall intent of this book was to make AI techniques more accessible to programmers and organizations outside the LISP and Prolog programming languages that were the primary programming languages used for AI at this time of this book's publication.
