Preparing to marry Kellan Kenningston, Prince of Doctenn, Duke of Rockbridge, hasn't gone as smoothly as Brie Sanders was hoping. However, her fiance who seems hell bent on breaking traditions is equally hell bent on giving her the special day she's always dreamed of. After their whirlwind wedding and hot honeymoon, the two embark on the adventure known as happily ever after. It isn't long before old issues arise, unexpected challenges are presented, and new foes are exposed. While the royal couple knows their life together isn't going to be easy, neither is prepared for the heartaches and hardships that lie ahead.
Brie sometimes has to question her man about his meaning of phrases, “like really talk to me in private or are you saying that as an excuse to get me bent over the office desk?” Brie had no problem busting Kellan's balls, “that negative tone better have been about the food and not about shagging me nonstop for two hours.” I loved this book, I loved how strong Brie became, girl took no crap. Kellan was a tad bit slow to learn a few things, but once his head was removed from his butt he did okay.
All the plotting and scheming does not always get you what you want.
That's what Felicity was handed for all of her efforts, a big fat zero. Being a little spoiled heiress, she learned this lesson the hard way. Kellan knew he already had and married the one woman he wanted in his life and that was Brie. He just had to find the right balance between his career of giving back to the community to make Doctenn a better country and his marriage. Luckily for Kellan and Brie, his Uncle Trenton gave them the best wedding gift they could possible ever want and need. This allowed them to work on their marriage and reconnect with each other despite all of the drama, real and imagined, that was attempting to tear them apart. They were finally able to work on their HEA. I just love their love. Despite their differences in race and background, they still were true to themselves and each other.
I enjoyed reading this love story about Kellan and Brie, but book three just did not hold my attention like the first two had. Every one in the book seems to get their groove on except poor King Kenneth. He just seems so unhappy and alone. He loves his sons and their families very much, but something is just missing with him. I know his wife has been gone along time but he has time and room in his heart for love and romance. Maybe the author can write another story detailing Kenneth and a new love interest. I was hoping he would have met someone in this book that would have peaked his interest. I'm getting a little tired of reading about young love romance. Mature, experienced and seasoned adults need and crave hot erotic romance too!
A wonderful wedding and honeymoon!! But their marriage soon finds a few pot holes that both Brie and Kellan need to navigate to keep their married life on an even keel. What? You didn't think it was going to be a bed of roses for them did you? LOL As the banter continues, both Brie and Kellan face down nemesis's that they both are convinced are trying to ruin their marriage. Kellen fears that Guy is better suited to his wife and her needs, where as Brie has to come to terms with Kellan working closely with an ex....Felicity. As Hannah's Hope, an orphanage, in honour of his late mother, comes to fruition with the help of financial backing by Felicity, Kellan finds that he does not have the time to spend with his wife and family anymore. The work involved in getting the orphanage up and running, whilst running into many obstacles keeps him away from home far too much, he feels his dream is nearing fruition and he soon forgets his obligations to his wife and the royal family. But, Guy keeps Brie on the straight and narrow, and she is convinced at times that Guy seems to take Kellan's side over her own, making many excuses as to why, once again he cancels his plans to spend time with her. Brie, still as sharp tongued as ever, soon puts Kellan in his place, and if not for the fact that we get dual POV, plus the added bonus of the narrative straight to us, for our eyes only, Kellan struggles to find a compromise in his life. The story is hilariously funny, and most times Kellan can talk himself out of trouble but when he takes a call from Felicity during the night, and disappears on Brie without a call or text, when he was supposed to support her whilst she took a vital exam, all the wheels come falling off their marriage. AND yes you guessed it, Felicity is simply over the moon that Kellan and Brie "appear" to be splitting up....her plans finally coming to fruition...... How on earth is Kellan going to get himself out of hot water is funny to see, as he feels heartbroken that he let Brie down "again". Will she forgive him, or has he let her down one too many times? She finds solace in Guy!! (hehe, of course she does!!) Loved the ending, and especially the epilogue, as Kellan and Brie do find their HEA, eventually!!
WOW Kellen and Brie have taken us on a hell of a ride so far!And book 3 was by far one of my favorite books that i've read by Xavier...and i've real ALL of her books!
I love how different Kellen and Brie are from each other and i love how that makes them more attracted to each other. No matter how many barriers people keep throwing up between them and how many problems they are forced to face, they come out stronger. Although Kellen is royalty he is still 100% male and therefore screws up....A LOT. So far they have faced more then any relationship should ever have to but what will they do now when they are faced with any woman's worst nightmare......his gorgeous ex! Who he is still "friendly" with! Who clearly still has feelings for him!
Brie has done a lot of adjusting lately to royal life. She's lost her freedom and moved far far away from all of her friends and family. And now as a newlywed she's having to learn to share her new husband with his country and with the foundation that he created in his mothers memory..and that foundation comes with the attachment of his ex and her mega money!
Brie and Kellen find themselves spending more and more time apart. Missed lunches turns into missed suppers and late late nights. Can their love handle the way their lives seem to be taking different roads? Will Kellen realize what hes missing out on before Brie has reached her breaking point? Can mistakes be overlooked and can mistakes be made right?!!?!
I've loved every book in this series! Brie is such a strong character and takes no crap! Kellen is used to always getting what he wants and never having to work for anything. That was of course until he met Brie and she has given him a run for his money since day one!
I was given this book in turn for an honest review.
Things for Kellan and Brie are never as they seem. Lurking behind every corner is another obstacle to test their relationship. Are they strong enough to win?
Xavier Neal did not disappoint with the third and final instalment of Kellan and Brie's story; the only dissatisfaction for me was I needed MORE! I'm not sure I could ever get enough of Kellan and Brie.
Royally Duched Up was beautiful and frustrating in equal measure. The connection and relationship Kellan and Brie have is inspirational. They enjoy their time together and fight to keep each other happy. When they are together fun is always their aim.
There is one character from the first moment they opened their mouth, that irritated me. It was clear what they wanted and they were willing to go to crazy lengths to try and achieve it. I would have loved nothing more, than to crawl into my kindle and give them a swift kick up the ass.
This story has a life lesson within in the pages; our past can try to affect our future. However, love will always win. True love will always shine through and conquer all.
Xavier throws in a plot twist or two that gives this story the true Xavier Neal edge. From start to finish I was once again enthralled into the world of Kellan. I have loved every moment of this series.
If you are looking for a sizzling romance with humour and a couple with determination to be together no matter what life throws their way, this series is for you.
Wow wow wow!!! I have to say I fell in love with the 3rd book in the duched series immediately! Just like the first 2! I couldn’t wait to get this one since the 2nd book left us wondering who the mystery person was that was going to sponsor Kellan’s dream of building Hannah’s Hope! Thank goodness Kellan found out Felicity’s motives before it was too late and he lost Brie for good! whew…I was on the edge of my seat! The only good things she brought was Guy! Which I absolutely loved his character! I have to say the banter between everyone in this book was so funny; it made me laugh even more than the first 2 books! The different terms for everything just had me laughing until I couldn’t breathe! While there was so much laughter there were also tears! I have to say..I did cry during some parts. Kellan and Brie are such amazing people! With a strong family who will have your back through it all, you can accomplish anything! Such an amazing read!!! This is a definite must read series!! It will have your emotions all over the place..but in the best way! I do love that this will continue on with the new character that came about in the book..Wes Wilcox..who is the man of mystery!! I will be waiting to find out!!!
As tension rises in their relationship with life preporations and Kellen's dream for a better place for young kids.
The fight for balance is slowly becoming a loosing battle. Brie finally has her art degree and wants to help Kellen with his dream project and kids. When she decides that being a teacher is what she wants to do, she is elated to combine her passion which is art and teaching others to love it just how she does on their own.
Kellen is hopelessly wrapped up in his project that he is on the loosing end of what little balance that has been fought for. As his sidetrackness grows inevitably stronger, he is starting to feel the drift between him and his wife.
Realizing the battle between love and duty has extremely shifted the balance. Kellen and Brie continue to fight for their love and mutuality. Brie is finding it hard to be the second fiddle and does everything she can to support the love of her life while following her dreams as well.
When an ex threatens to disrupt their life even more thing begin to suffere the consequences.
Will Kellen realize what is most important to him before it is all lost or is he doom to suffer the ultimate heartache?
What a ride!! After the cliffhanger from the 2nd book, I was dying to get my hands on the finale. Kellan and Brie did not disappoint! We get to see more into their relationship as well as see a few of our favorites! Kellan and Brie's relationship gets severely tested and we get to see Kellan in some of his hardest moments. Brie is so strong, like "hear me roar!" strong! She will fight for what is hers and watch out whoever is in her way. They are so different but mesh so well together. I'm super pumped for you all to read the ending of this series. Get ready for the feels train. You are going to want to hit something, scream, cry, and laugh. Xavier of course is amazing and if you loved the first two, you won't be disappointed with this one!
What a great ending to a great series. I didn't want this book to end this series is one of my favorite series thus far. Great story telling and great characters for the author did not disappoint with another good book. I loved reading Royally Duched Up #3 I laughed and cried and digged the characters for they made me happy and exciting to read their stories. Brie and Kellan are working on their wedding plans and things don't go as smoothly as they want it to be. There is suspense and drama and a wonderful story line that will grab you on the first page. Great series didn't want it to end :(
*** I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book ***
Sigh such bittersweet happiness when we reach the final installment of This trilogy. I absolutely LOVED this series and even though i was gutted, I was thoroughly put back together by the end of the series. Kellan and Brie learn that communication and honesty and compromise are key to any relationship when others are out to destroy the love they have built. There was SO many emotional coaster rides within this series but I would totally endure it all over again. I HAVE to state that I LOVE when authors pop other characters from their other books, it makes me as a reader look forward to revisiting certain characters that we have met in previous stories.
Just wow! What do you say about a trilogy that can pull at many different emotions and absolutely wrap itself around you? I just loved Kellan and Brie's journey throughout this series. They had ups and downs, intensity, laughs, sweetness and amazing heat. Their friends and family pulled me in to their circle and I just wanted to sit with them for an evening and enjoy myself. This last step in their story was perfection. I cried, I laughed, there's so much wrapped up in these pages that I love. These two will always have a special place in my heart and I'm just sad I hadn't read them sooner.
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Brie and Kellan's story has come to an end. The series has kept my attention and left me on the seat of my chair just how it will all wrap up. I was not surprised to see that Ms. Neal has wrapped it all up nicely in a bow for us readers. There will be some surprises but one thing won't be such a surprise (yes I said, I knew it at one point).
Definitely read the series in order to understand the dynamics but you will not be disappointed when you finish the series.
Nobody has me in my feelings the way a Xavier Neal story does. This final part was just and good as the first two and wrapped up Brie and Kellan's story with all the feels. The exchanging of the wedding vows had me all leaky at the face.....I'm talking about swooning! But everything Kellan did for Brie was done so with the utmost care, even when he was being an inconsiderate butthead. Loved how Brie, never not let Kellan know how she felt and stood her ground with regards to she wanted her marriage to work.
Loved, loved, loved it. So glad the bitchy ex Felicity was fired and removed before she caused further damage to Brie and Kellan. Was looking forward to Brie bitch slapping her but just like royalty it was done with grace and class instead of hood-rich violence lol. There were a lot of inner dialogue that got a bit much for my taste in a few pages. Stuff that were explained that didn’t need to be. Overall, the 3rd book was great, too. Ms. Neal did not disappoint. On to the next book...yay!
I admit I was scared for these characters and what their future would be a few times in the story. Kellan did so many things that just made me want to yell at him through my book. Brie also had some stubborn moments. These two together are so cute. I have loved the banter since book 1 but they had some issues that seemed to keep spiraling.
I was expecting something, a turn in the plot, but did not guess how it actually was navigated. This was the best ending for these two and I loved every heartbreaking, emotional minute.
So happy Kellan realized to had to prioritize his life. He shouldn't have to choose between his husband duties and his work responsibilities. His love for Brie never wavered. Felicity hid her true feelings behind a mask of feigned kindness but was ultimately removed from the picture. Introducing Weston Wilcox has me wishing for the next book in the Private series.
The final book in the series and I was still on a reading high! From beginning to end Kellan and Brie with their yin and yang comedic banter will steal your heart. Xavier Neal tells a story of how two people find love that can change the world. Along the way they struggle and fight against bigotry, their own insecurities and finding balance in their marriage.
I love this trilogy and especially the third book. Gahhh, Xavier’s writing will suck you in and take you on an adventure. The emotions in this book are crazy…it will have you laughing, swooning, fanning yourself and even maybe a few tears.
Kellan and Brie face much heartache and trying times…some are expected, some are preventable and all are fixable. It’s a beautiful tale of a couple fighting to keep their dream alive.
Great end to an amazing series. I loved how Kellan really hit rock bottom and has to have his Come to Jesus moment and really figure himself out. And I loved that Brie really had to stand up for herself and relationship. This was such a great read and so many emotions just hit you. Great job Xavier!!! Can't wait for the next.
I absolutely loved the ending to this trilogy. I will definitely miss Brie and Kellan. I had such a good time reading, I could not put it down. The entire series is a must read and a must own. I! Glad it is apart of my collection and I look forward to more from the super talented Xavier Neal.
I loved it. A wonderful end to a sweet live story. I appreciated the real struggle that couples go through put to page and how they can come out on the other side better and stronger. Good read and I'm excited about the other stories from Doctenn. I wonder who's next?
omg what an end to a series, this book rocks, cant believe the twists that happen in this book . yeh so called friends not , wanted to rip them apart for the trouble they caused, love the sneaky addition to a character from another series, seamless . amaing shame that the series has come to a close.
So good! This book was so good. Kellan and Brie were hilarious, sexy as sin and so loving! I'm so glad Kellan got rid of Felicity, although I wished Brie had at least slapped the hell out of her! I look forward to reading more from Doctenn! Great book and a great end to the series!
I see my felicity got hers. Thanks for this series . I truly enjoyed it along with the Royle family. I was especially Rolling on the sister in law crazy preggo self and all of the paintball games that they did. Kudos for her friend Guy. I LOVES HIM. Another Awesome story my Love. So are you thinking of doing more for this series 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Definitely a worthy trilogy. The characters were well developed the story was strong. Though there’s not much said about the King and his past there, was just enough to make you want to know more about him and this past. Even future for the most part. Overall good story looking forward to the next.
And finally the fairytale comes to an end. But not without some trouble.
First, I love the fact that Brie stands her ground. She has no fear of letting Kellan know her issues. And heaven knows Kellan has issues. His choices have led to grief and close to loss. But fortunately Brie is all in.
This series led us on new adventures and enlightenment.
Well this couple has been on a wild ride and their arraign and honeymoon is no different. This is the conclusion to the trilogy and the hope our royal lovebirds get their HEA. This book shows the importance of working through all your insecurities, enter the Ex 😳 and finding balance to ensure the HEA Brie and Kellen deserve. Enjoyable read.
I was given an ARC but voluntarily chose to review
Absolutely loved the finale of this series! This book really delved in to more of the feeling of both Kellan and Brie. The push and pull between spouse and duty to country and how to balance. I loved seeing the vulnerability of both characters and how real it all felt!
Beautiful story to round out a series that is definitely one to not miss!
I really enjoyed this series. Brie and Kellan are a feisty, mismatched couple who are just perfect together. Their extended family are fun. It's a quite lovely love story.
Only criticism is the editing leaves a lot to be desired. It's distracting, for me, when words are missing from sentences or just out of order.
The whole series was so much fun to read. I love how all of Xavier Neal’s books crossover. I am usually not a fan of royal romance novels but this book as well as the first two are hilarious & thought provoking. Kellen & Brie’s story was a fun rollercoaster ride. Read all three & you will be pleased.
