Scudiere knows how to spin riveting tales!
From the "just beyond reality" stories like Resonance and God's Eye, to the stories of "every day people" like Shadow Constant and Phoenix, I was enthralled from page one. Even the two very short stories at the end have the reader cheering on the main characters. Definitely a great 6-in-1 book to keep you turning pages for hours.
Resonance - what do you do when your world is literally flipping upside down? Doctors and scientists from around the country form an unlikely team that tries to save the world before it's too late. In the end, there is a difficult choice to make.
Shadow Constant - pooling their resources to buy and renovate an old Georgia plantation, an unlikely group of young adults makes the discovery of several lifetimes. Brought together by the brother-sister bond of Kayla and Evan, historical researcher Ivy and Evan's socialite girlfriend Revenue work with the siblings to bring life back into the old plantation. But their discovery of old plans that are credited to a famous inventor bring trouble to their door. What will this misfit band of renovation do when they realize there are people willing to kill for what they found?
God's Eye - when Katherine starts seeing things that shouldn't be there, she begins to question her own sanity. She meets her too-good-to-be-true neighbor, Zachary, and he helps put her fears at ease... For now. Her new assistant foisted upon her by her father proves to be as much of a help as he is an enigma. As Katherine reaches out for help at her local library, she finds an unlikely friend in the oddly quirky librarian, Margot. Who can Katherine trust with her life? She thinks she is going crazy as she discovers the truth, but will Katherine make the right choice in the end?
Phoenix - Firefighter Jason discovers the truth about his past. Although he was rescued from a fire as a child and adopted by a wonderful couple, he soon learns that he had a brother who was also rescued from the fire. With the help of his Captain, his almost-detective friend Rob, the ADA, one if his firefighting friends, and a young reporter, the group searches for what really happened along the way. Will Jason find his brother? Will his new roommate help him get out of his own head when it comes to women? Can Jason forgive his brother and himself for all that has happened?
