This atmospheric horror novella takes place just after Mother of Marlin, Book 1 of The Marlin Chronicles. This stand-alone spooky tale based in Wales accompanies The Marlin Chronicles series. In this story, Stephanie and her faithful friend Jan take a relaxing trip to recover from the events of the past few months. They find themselves in a pretty Welsh village nestling in a lush, green valley; the perfect place to unwind. But soon they discover that even the most innocent-looking places can harbour sinister secrets. A change can be as good as a rest, but there can be no rest when someone needs their help. Soon, the weekend break turns into a fight for survival.

Alyson Mountjoy returns to her Welsh roots in this story, combining her memories with folklore, history, creepy happenings and her love of all things Welsh. Above all, it is a tale of friendship.

About the author

Alyson co-founded the first UK organisation supporting people with Auditory Processing Disorder/APD. As well as currently chairing a new organisation (APD Support UK) to campaign for wider recognition and providing a website of the same name and several online APD support groups, she has written a non-fiction book on Auditory Processing Disorder for children, parents and professionals: "Can I Tell You About Auditory Processing Disorder." Her second book about APD will be available for publication on 18th March 2021 and can be pre-ordered: "Auditory Processing Disorder (APD): Identification, Diagnosis and Strategies for Parents and Professionals" based on almost 20 years of experience in this area.
