Rate this book
A rock band. A reality show. A recipe for disaster.

Falling in love with your best friend is one thing. Falling in love with a rock star is entirely another. Put those two things together, add in airing your new relationship on reality TV, and you’ve got one volatile mix just waiting to explode.

Lily Montgomery’s life has veered in a direction she never expected. She’s struggling to find her balance after her romance with rock star Dane Archer propelled her into the latest headlines. Her dreams of a successful writing career are fading in the bright lights of unwanted fame. She needs to figure out how to help Dane and his band achieve their goals without losing sight of her own.

Easier said than done...

As The Void’s tour continues, Lily faces family drama, relationship trials, dangerously dedicated fans, and zealous paparazzi. Between that and figuring out how to spin the tabloid-worthy relationship developing between the band’s brooding bassist, Keith Connors, and her conservative roommate, Sydney Ward, Lily has more weight on her shoulders than she ever imagined.

But her choice has been made. For the sake of love and her own reputation, she will have to find her rhythm and rise to each challenge. If she doesn’t, she’ll lose everything...and the whole world will be watching.

Most everyone has a reality tv show they claim is their guilty pleasure. I do too. A couple actually. But this book was just as delicious as one of those shows. It is a reality tv brought together with words and I cannot get enough. Lust. Drama. Love. So where do I begin with my review? What could I possibly say without giving too much away? So freakin' much goes on in this book and I was completely caught up in it. Deliriously happy to be back with some of my most favorite characters ever; I read and enjoyed my time spent immersed in the story.

A new relationship forms between Keith and Sydney. And it is everything!! But it won’t come easy to them. They both have to fight to even get it started. And put more fight into making it work. I promise you are going to love this new side of Keith. But then a crap storm unfolds with the show and everything and everyone is tested. No one will come out of the premiere untouched…especially these two. If you are invested in these characters like I have been from the start, you will hurt. I sure did.

And then there is my sweet Lily and beautiful Dane. These two are holding an entire universe on their shoulders with this show and tour, yet they keep on smiling and keep falling more and more in love with each other as the days fly by. All while allowing their fans to think that Lily is a gold digger after Dane's money. After all, the show needs something exciting to keep it going right? But honestly, I could never tire of reading about them. So glad we got just as much of them as we did Keith and Sydney. I was worried they might take a back seat to the new romance. Happy to see that wasn't the case.

I won't say too much about Suddenly Something except that they are a pit stain on the shirt of life. Seriously. Can't stand them, their manager, or the trash they spew. They have zero class and zero redeeming qualities. Why waste time talking about them?

UNSTEADY RHYTHM was such an amazing story full of twists at every turn of the page, an undeniable passion throughout the book, and an allure that pulls you in. This book came to life and had you feeling as if you were right there along with the cast, cameras and all the action. 5 Stars!

As the wife of a guitar player who has had to deal with band life for the duration of our 26 year relationship, I am enjoying being a groupie from the comfort of my own home.

Favorite couple Archer & Lily are still happily in love and we are now introduced to new couple Keith & Sydney. I predict another coupling for book 3!

Drama continues as pre-production of their reality show House of Archer shows this reader that the producers do not care who they hurt in their quest for success. The editing room is a dangerous place that continues to portray Lily as a gold-digging-band-breaker-upper, Dane as the unsuspecting rock star, Sydney as a homewrecker, and Keith as a mega douche.

I was so into this book that when the last page came I was in shock. I kept trying to turn the page hoping there was more. Alas, at this time, there was not but soon I hope!

While we (impatiently) wait for book #3 - Keep on rocking!

4.5 Stars!! Much as I loved Archer and Lily’s story in the first book, to me, this one was even better. Keith and Sydney’s story packs a punch and brings the feels. There’s so much here to love and love it I did! Keith is a bit of a mystery - a sexy as sin rock star…but almost reluctantly so. Sydney is a straight-laced school teacher who’s smart and sassier than she appears. With the craziness of the tour and the reality show, there is so much that can throw a wrench into their fledgling relationship and they certainly experience their share of ups and downs but these two were perfect for each other and their chemistry sizzled. This series feels like the best TV drama and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Unsteady Rhythm is book 2 in the House of Archer series. It picked up basically where book 1 left off. This series is pure entertainment! Absolutely addictive. It's well-written, nicely paced with a great cast of characters. I am now a huge fan of Raine Thomas.

Lily and Dean announced their relationship at a press conference. This pretty much sums up their lives at the moment. They may be in love and happy together, but it's all so public between the tour and the reality show. But what a show; love, lust, family drama, band drama! These two have so much responsibility on them to take the band to a higher level of success. That sweet Lily is willing to play the role of the villain for the show is a testament to her love for not only Dean, but for The Void. Still as she fights daily to keep her identity as a writer, to be portrayed as a gold-digger is a strain. I love how even with all the pressure these two fell deeper in love. These two are quickly becoming one of my favorite all-time couples!

This time the new couples don't include just Lily and Dean; I got my wish and Keith and Sydney are connecting as well. I loved getting to know Keith better. He was a man of mystery in book 1 and we all knew he could use a girlfriend upgrade. Once again Raine Thomas has created complex, multi-layered characters. They are so believable, sharing qualities that the reader can definitely connect with. The dynamics at play between these two are so entertaining.

There is so much drama and angst in this book, but once again Raine Thomas never goes over the line. She keeps the reader on edge, tense, but we are always rewarded. She balances the drama with the everyday, the viper action with the sweetness and tenderness of new lovers. The two sides of family; unconditional love and support and utter craziness. I fell in love with these characters even more this book and look forward to the next one. There are still people who need to get put in their place once and for all and there is still the promised HEA.

4.5 Stars!! Recently, on an author’s fan group page, someone posed the question “Have you ever loved a secondary character more than a main character?”. The answer for me is, of course, yes…many times, yes! And, it’s happened again here. Oh Keith, the other fans of The Void may love Archer best, but you are my number one! Much as I loved Archer and Lily’s story in the first book, to me, this one was even better. Keith and Sydney’s story packs a punch and brings the feels. There’s so much here to love and love it I did!

Keith is a bit of a mystery. He’s a guy who keeps to himself, doesn’t often smile, and seems to keep many secrets. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a sexy as sin rock star…but almost reluctantly so. His hesitation to let others into his life piqued my interest but his close relationship with his sister made my heart melt. My Keith is definitely an enigma. Sydney is a straight-laced school teacher who’s smart and sassier than she appears. As Lily’s friend, she’s on tour with the band and gets to see Keith every day. She’s developed a crush on him but never imagines that they could be a couple…especially since she’s figured out one of his secrets and realizes that he may not like that she knows. Thanks to several events, Keith begins to see that there’s more to Sydney than what meets the eye. And, slowly, he recognizes that he wants her. Problem is…he doesn’t feel he’s good enough for her and is sure he’ll just end up hurting her. With the craziness of the tour and the reality show, there is so much that can throw a wrench into their fledgling relationship and they certainly experience their share of ups and downs. I loved hearing the story from both of their points of view and, even though there were times I was frustrated by Keith and his lack of communication, knowing what he was thinking made it so I that could never love him any less. These two were perfect for each other and their chemistry sizzled.

I should also tell you that we still see lots of Archer and Lily and the rest of the band in this book. We also still have the rivalry with the other band, the crazy “reality” show, and of course, those who are out to ruin everything that The Void is trying to achieve. Between all the different characters and the various story lines, you can easily get confused…but, the beauty of it all is that there’s always something to hold your interest. This series feels like the best TV drama and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

I received this eARC novel from Red Coat Publishing. This is my honest review.

I really, really enjoyed this book! For some reason, the insta-love with Archer and Lily didn't go well with me in book 1, but the relationship between Keith and Sydney in this book was my ticket in! I loved the way they interacted with each other and how both of them were not like they seemed when they got to know each other.

Sydney is amazing. She is so smart and mature and proper. But when she is with Keith, we get to learn some of the more embarrassing qualities she has.

And Keith is portrayed as this bad boy with a dark past and is the brooding member of the band, but he is so sweet and kind and human underneath it all. I especially liked seeing him with his sister, Lex.

Both of them have secrets they want to keep buried, but the best part of their relationship is that they are upfront and honest with each other - even if it means hurting the other one in the end.

I grew to like Lily and Archer a little more in this novel. And all of the media crap they have to go through? I don't think I could be cut out to be in the music/rock band lifestyle if any of this information is accurate. Too much drama and non-stop moving for me.

I adored Keith and Sydney so much in this book, and I'm intrigued to see if there will be another couple pairing up in book #3!

Thank you once again Raine Thomas for a copy of this book.

Now that Lily is in the spotlight alongside Archer, she works very hard to project an image of herself she feels will interest the producers of the reality TV show, House of Archer. In doing so, she's garnered a lot of fans, but also some haters, so she's got a steep learning curve ahead of her.

Also happening at the same time is the relationship between Sydney and Keith. Now, I really liked this couple, even more than Lily and Archer. Sydney and Keith are like polar opposites, and yet they have this connection between them that was so interesting to read about, and watch them grow closer and closer. Both Sydney and Keith have had some difficult past too, so that has shaped them into who they are today.

I've enjoyed this book even more than the first one, and I've also read a preview of what's coming in book 3, so bring it on!! :D

I was glad that I was able to read the first two books back to back. Now there are plenty of questions that I have that I need to have book 3! The House of Archer finally debuts the first episode and things unravel. I still think Nicki and Regina and conniving and I hope justice is served in the third book. Dane and Lily have realized that being famous comes with plenty of drawbacks. Keith and Sydney are giving each other a chance since he kicked Nicki to the curb, thank god! Keith has such a big heart and is amazing to his little sister. Set aside some time because this book has so many twists and turns.

After reading the first little bit of this book in a teaser, I thought I'd be disappointed, because it looked like Unsteady Rhythm focused solely on Sydney's love life instead of Lily and Dane, BUT Raine Thomas masterfully intertwined four characters' viewpoints instead of just the two from Imperfect Harmony. Consider me impressed. The narratives didn't switch too rapidly, so the story was still easy to follow. Plus, just as she did with the first House of Archer book, Thomas makes you feel everything right along with those characters. Please excuse me while I go read everything else Raine Thomas has ever written...

This series continues to provide all the feels. Book two is well written and further develops characters from book one. The emotions and plot feel real and grab your attention. The story development feels believable and natural. It is nice being able to live vicariously through these pages as a "groupie" and peek into the lives of rock stars and all the drama that unfolds. Cannot wait to see how the series continues.

As per this author's usual storytelling, this is yet another great read. So realistic that the reader can't help but live in the storyline. This is as realistic as one can get when telling a story. I loved every minute. Got lost in my own mind. Raine Thomas is a master story teller and the reader will love anything she chooses to write. Don't miss this and book 1, Imperfect Harmony.
