Tube Ritual Volume I: Jumpstart Your Journey To 5000 YouTube Subscribers!

Rate this book
Everybody begins their YouTube journey from zero. You have to start with no videos, views or subscribers. Furthermore, more than 400 minutes of content is uploaded to YouTube each minute. To say that it’s challenging to grow a channel is an understatement! In fact, less than 3% of YouTube channels ever gain more than 10,000 subscribers. Yet, in a one year period, Brian G Johnson gained 10,623 subscribers and drove over half a million video views. Truly beginning from zero. Brian had no previous YouTube success to draw from and had to learn the myriad of camera settings, editing options and technical details that often become a roadblock. Furthermore, he did it in a small and competitive niche, the YouTube video marketing niche. How, you ask? By researching, testing and tweaking various video growth methods over a one year period in order to identify why the YouTube algorithm promotes one video over another. Ultimately, this led to the creation of a video ritual based on his findings. The word ritual means to perform a series of actions according to a prescribed order. More than a book, Tube Ritual Volume Jumpstart Your Journey to 5000 YouTube Subscribers was a one year case study in which Brian G focused on how to successfully grow a YouTube channel. With the goal being to be able to drive more views and covert more viewers into subscribers. The Tube Ritual Case Study - 365 Days

Printed book had one flaw, black and white illustrations. The main point if many of them seemed to be to illustrate the effect of the colors used, and this was pointed out several places in the book.
I presume this isn't the case in the ebook, which wasn't available when I ordered the printed book.

Brian G provides a lot of solid, useful advice for people that are just starting and/or looking to grow their YouTube channel. When used in conjunction with the many videos he has on his channel, readers can read about and see how Brian G uses these tactics and how you too can use them. Just from implementing some of the simpler suggestions, I’ve noticed that I’m creating better looking videos I hope will continue to drive views and subs.

The only real issue I have with the book doesn’t relate to the content, rather it’s the formatting and presentation of some material. In order to keep the flow of the material, pictures are kept in line with the descriptions, which means sections and subsections of the book may not fill a full page (minor annoyance). The other issue is that the pictures are all B&W. Because YouTube is a visual media, the book would have benefited from full color photos, especially when covering topics like thumbnail creation. However, if you watch the videos on Brian G’s channel, they can make up for the lack of color in the book.

Many books like this have a lot of fluff. Fortunately this doesn't. I found it very useful and have changed my channel and approach to creating videos as a result - excellent book. Be sure to check out Brian's Youtube channel as well and see how he changed his videos, thumbnails and style of presentation over time.

I found this book REALLY helpful. It helped me see the big picture as far as a cohesive strategy to follow. There’s a few places where I will modify my strategy, but overall this was a great book and I don’t doubt that all the advice helps. As a side note, I’ve had the privilege of meeting him in person and he was incredibly kind and helpful. Thanks Brian!

A great book for someone who is thinking about starting a YouTube Channel or is wanting to grow their channel. The book is a bit dated but a lot of the content is still relevant.

I did asked Brain G Johnson if there will be a Volume II and he said there are no plans for a second book at this time.
