Introduced by the author, this edition also features a suite of lyrics written by Simon Stephens for a musical collaboration with Dutch singer-songwriter Wende Snijders, performed at Schouwburg Het Park in Westerdijk, The Netherlands, in March 2017.
Nuclear War was published to coincide with the world premiere of the play at the Royal Court Theatre, Upstairs, London, in April 2017.

The fact that I really liked Nuclear War wasn't surprising, considering I loved it in production last year. (https://harryrmcdonald.wordpress.com/...) More of a surprise is Stephens' ability as a lyricist, with his Songs for Wende actually being very beautiful to read. Just a shame I can't track any recordings of them down.

Nuclear War was four stars. A really interesting theatrical provocation.
The Songs for Wende were lyrically quite naff and crass. Definitely needed to be seen in performance to get anything out of them. A deflated one star.
