Obtaining private foundation funding requires an organized and coordinated effort. This book provides an approach that private schools (as well as any other non-profit organization) can use to successfully obtain private sector funding for their programs and services. The text is divided into four sections. The first describes the foundation world and acquaints the reader with what foundations are and sources for identifying potential grant funds. The second chapter focuses on how to develop a dynamic grant-seeking organization to aggressively pursue foundation funds. Section III addresses how to write grant applications and the final section provides an example of a grant application. Additionally, various directories of possible funders at the state and local level are provided.
