Written in 2002, this collection of poems felt very modern. There were running metaphors of cars, driving, using computers, etc. it was also a bit repetitive; four poems had a reference to claws either being extended or withdrawn. It also felt as though the poems were written via prompts; remix a prayer for a facet of modern life; write a poem about a famous painting; what if accountants were cowboys? Overall, it wasn’t my favourite.
