Rest in peace, Len Bias

I don't know if the author Parnell Hall's inspiration for this story was the tragic untimely overdose cocaine death of Len Bias the Maryland Terp who had just been drafted by the Boston Celtics, but it mirrored the senseless death of the talented basketball player in the story. The story touched me with its authenticity regarding the black characters in a way that was quite realistic. I'd like to ask Mr. Hall if his characterization of the Coach was plausible.
