Difficult to review. This is a bilingual (EN/PL) language learning book for people who already know some Polish words. At the beginning of each chapter, there is a list of English words with Polish (and sometimes slang) translations. This is a wonderful way to get used to Polish grammar, typography and (with the cd) pronounciation. It is a book to use in addition to vocabulary- and grammar learning.

Content:
11 short stories about daily things, optimistic, modern. The protagonists are of various nationalities in different stages of their lives, experiencing Poland in their unique way. Also: at the moment it is a modern, up-to-date book and there are concrete mentions of bars and cafés in some big cities in Poland. The stories are not the best ever regarding character development, for example, and people might find some stereotypes in there.

Form (regarding language learning):
- There is a cd with it book, to get used to the Polish pronounciation. The story is read why someone who does not speak extremely slowly or fast. Just natural, but still too fast for a beginner.
- This brings me to the second part: This book is great to re-read while learning Polish. The sentences are short and there are lots of useful words in the book, but it is impossible to learn/remember them all in one read. So this with this book, you can assess how easily you can read Polish, if you also learn extra words and grammar next to this book.
- There is some repetition in the word list, before and next to the text, and, of course, every learner might feel like there are words translated that they already knew, and that there are words not translated next to the text that they wish were translated. I would the idea of this word list, both before and while reading (side-titles instead of subtitles?) very helpful, but also very subjective and sometimes random.
- There is plenty of space to write and add your own remarks.

I would love to read more in this form, so I hope there will be a second edition, somehow. It's a great concept: a book to enjoy in various ways along the many I-learn-Polish-journeys around the world.
