This book chronicles another trip on the barge Palinurus through rural France via canals, with many of the same company that went together in Kimbrough’s previous book, Floating Island. A second section tells about a shorter cruise on the Hudson River, this time on a larger boat, not chartered for their group exclusively, but including other travelers as well. It’s fun to read about their adventures on and off the boat. I think Emily Kimbrough had an interesting and fun group of friends! (August 2015)
I still remember the shelf on the library in Lapeer where her books were kept. They were fascinating. Life as I thought my mam should have been living at that time.
