Many couples devour beautiful images in their desire to infuse meaning and memory into their wedding celebration, but they don't have the tools they need to translate the ideas. Award-winning stationery designer, painter, and stylist Kristy Rice, consultant to celebrities, bridges the gap between how to dream your wedding and how to do your wedding. She works inspiration from iconic artists like Monet, Hopper, Dali, O'Keeffe, and Wyeth into stunning scenery, historic estates, gardens, materials, and color compositions. Sixteen chapters of painterly ideas come alive with commentary from some of the world's most respected wedding professionals, such as Abby Larson of Style Me Pretty, Mindy Weiss, and fine art photographer Jose Villa. Her approach fosters lessons that will be used beyond the big day to style a life and home.
I thought this book was full of unbelievably unique ideas .Flipping through these pages immediately put a smile on my face, and to see the inspiration of popular painting shine through into a wedding theme is truly amazing. I am currently planning a wedding, and personally the ideas shown in this big are too wild for my tastes, but this book is still worth the purchase, even to simply look through this photos and enjoy the wide selection of colors and wedding backdrops. I loved it.
I received this ARC on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Although some ideas are not very practical, most are absolutely stunning, and they really give me a new perspective on wedding planning. Ideas provided in this book of every single wedding detail, from invitations to wedding dresses, are inspired by artworks of famous artists --- I love the one inspired by Monet most. The only part that I do not like so much is the page design. Could be improved. ------------------ Overall: 4/5 Cover: 4/5 Content: 4.5/5 Writing: 4.5/5 Appealing: 5/5 Page design: 3.5/5
A beautiful book for planning a wedding with original ideas inspired by artworks of the greatist artists (Sargent, Monet, Frida Kahlo, Dalì. Wyeth, Giotto etc), there are for every taste. I suppose this book is unique in this sense, it's a joy for the eyes and it's surely inspiring though some ideas seemed not very practical to me.
I am reviewing this book for Kristy Rice, Schiffer Publishing Ltd., and NetGalley who gave me a copy of their book for an honest review. What an amazing book with loads of images and ideas – I could flip through this again and again.
