Victoria Barbour
19 books78 followersVictoria lives on the island of Newfoundland, and is fiercely proud of her home. She can imagine no better setting for her works, and hopes that her readers will one day come to witness Newfoundland and Labrador's rustic beauty for themselves. When she's not writing, or trying to convince people to visit her home, she's busy with her day-to-day life as a mother, wife, and marketing communications specialist.
She was born in St. John's, and raised above her family's fish and chips restaurant. She has traveled and lived in other parts of Canada, but chose to make her home where her heart has long resided. Victoria has a degree in History from Memorial University of Newfoundland, with a minor in Newfoundland Studies. The only thing that stands between her and a Master's degree in History from Simon Fraser University in British Columbia is her thesis. She has a background in broadcast journalism, advertising, and marketing. She is a proud member of both the Romance Writers of America (RWA) and their affiliate chapter, Romance Writers of Atlantic Canada (RWAC).
Victoria counts herself lucky to be surrounded by an incredibly supportive family, and thanks her husband daily for his unerring faith in her, and for being a wonderful father to their infant son.

As I read Will Walsh and Maye Mercer's story I laughed, I cried and I got homesick. Thank you Victoria Barbour for once again pulling my feels into directions I didn't know existed.

I really enjoyed reading this book. Will and Maye's relationship was an emotional rollercoaster, but their chemistry was hot. Can't wait to read more of this series. I recommend this book!!

I love the Heart Ease series!! It makes me love home even more!! I was so thrilled that the series was continuing! I fell in love with Will and Mae, their story was perfect! I also loved seeing most of the members of Heart's Ease and I hope maybe that Lola gets a book!! That would be amazing!

Victoria Barbour has done it again! Wilful Desire, the fifth instalment of the Heart's Ease Series, will grab you from the first line. If you're familiar with this author and her small town contemporaries set against a rugged coastline in Newfoundland, Canada then you need to read this book.
Barbour's charm and quick wit draw you in so quickly you'll believe you're sharing a cup of tea with Aunt Ida in her living room as the familiar cast of Heart's Ease characters, including the very hawt men of the Walsh Family (how many more can there be?) go about their lives in this outport community.
At the centre of this story is Will Walsh and Mae Mercer, childhood sweethearts who are drawn together like magnets with such sizzle you'll see the smoke rising from the pages. Barbour's storytelling skill shines in this book with the creative forcefield of obstacles designed to keep them apart.
When Will arrives home on leave, he hopes to win Mae back after she broke off their engagement two years prior. But his biggest mistake continues to be thinking he knows exactly what Mae wants out of life without ever asking her. While it's clear they've still got it in the bedroom, it's back to basic training for this sailor who has a lot to learn about what really makes Mae Mercer tick.
