Controlling Magic: An Urban Fantasy Novel

Rate this book
Mabry Wildes is in way over her head, again.

If she’s going to survive this new trial, she needs to control her Fae powers and not the other way around. To make matters worse, the call of Underhill gets stronger each day she stays away. The Summer Queen has called her to court but Mabry first must find the elusive Regina.
When Queen Lucretia of the West Hollywood Vampire Coven goes missing along with Henry and Chance, Mabry and Damian change course to find their friends instead. Their path leads them directly into a political nightmare and brings the FBI down on them. No longer working under the mask of anonymity, Mabry and Damian risk their lives to uncover what is happening to the people around them, human and magical folk.

Controlling Magic is the second book in the new heart-racing, thrilling urban fantasy series The Wildes Chronicles that readers are comparing to the Mercy Thompson urban fantasy series by Patricia Briggs.

What are you waiting for? Scroll up and buy now! I know you want to find out what happened to Mabry after that ending.

I received an ARC to give an honest review.

Poor Mabry does not seem to have a lot of luck with trusting people especially those that are the paranormal.
The one thing that got me was the over usage of her going back and forth between trusting and not trusting. I wish she would have gone with her gut and actually trusted herself.
She still is not in control of her power but she doesn't let that get her down especially when she wants to help her friends who are missing. It seems that someone has taken the head leaders of the paranormal and humans but for what and where are they at?
Now you throw in the FBI and Mabry has her hands full because it seems that something fishy is going on with that branch of the government.
What Mabry and Damian uncover is something that has been going on for quite a while and it seems that there may be a chance for Damian to get his powers back.
I am excited to see if Mabry will ever meet her father and get in control of her powers, to me that is the thing I am ready to read.

Not as much magic in this sequel, but it still kept you going. Mabry is trying not to be a loner, but she still struggles with it. She has to find help but can she or will they deny her their help? Mabry wants to kill Damian's dad for everything he has done. Can her and Damian find truth with this or will Damian side with his dad? Will she ever learn to control her Fae magic or keep losing control again? Will love to read the next book to see what happens, do hope theirs more magic from everyone. I received an arc copy for my honest review.

Controlling Magic picked up just where A Case of Magic left off. I must admit, Urban Fantasy is not my usual reading genre, but Dominika knows how to keep you turning the page and wanting more. I can't wait for the the third book in the series to be available.
I received this as an ARC and am honoured to be part of this circle.
