Robert Getham, a former runner from Newark, is searching for a cure to save himself from becoming a mindless zombie in a post-apocalyptic USA. The cure, if it even exists, is in Trenton, 50 miles away, on a path fraught with the same monsters he’s trying to avoid Turning into.
Meanwhile, his oldest son, Jason, must contend with his brother and sister in the Pod. This, while standing up to a bully and trying to build a relationship with the beautiful Emily Lanuici; all with his fractured relationship with Robert hanging in the air.
Loved it! I'm such a sucker for post-apocalyptic/zombie literature and this was a fantastic novella that I was able to devour during a relaxing weekend away at the lake. Stewart kept the plot moving swiftly and had several high action scenes. Would love to read future books about the same characters!
I want this book to have my babies, it was that good. I laughed, I cried, I bit my nails until the fingers on my right hand were mere bloody stumps. And you will too. Highly recommend.
