TRANSMOGRIFIED from a Redneck into an Engineer while working my way through Georgia Tech

Rate this book
This is a book about a Southern redneck young boy who was raised next to the backwoods in a poor dysfunctional family, with an alcoholic father and an unloving mother, who was sent away from home right out of grammar school and had to learn how to make it in the world on his own.

The book is titled “Transmogrified,” because in story after story in his book, he tells how he was affected and impacted by challenging, outrageously funny, and sometime mystical situations, while studying difficult science and engineering courses at Georgia Tech and working at his Co-Op and bartending jobs, to pay his way through college.
Some of his stories also tell of the hardships that he endured, and the obstacles that he had to overcome, that tested him emotionally and intellectually to the fullest. After finally earning an Engineering degree from Georgia Tech, he then overcame the difficulties that prevented him from marrying the young girl that he loved. This book shows young people, who may be facing life on their own and are in a similar situation, especially those from poor families, how they too can face the world alone and go on to enjoy a loving, happy and successful life.

This is a great book for young people who can’t afford to go to college, or for those who don’t want to borrow sums of money to pay for it. It’s also an eye-opening book for those more fortunate kids, who had it easy going through college, because it shows them what they missed by not paying their own way. This book illustrates to young boys and girls who are trying to plan for their own future, some of what they may face out in the world and how they need to have faith in God, self-reliance, internal fortitude and persistence in order to get ahead in life.

I just published my new book "TRANSMOGRIFIED From A South Georgia REDNECK into an ENGINEER while working my way through Georgia Tech." It is a 340-page paperback that contains some crazy, funny, challenging and sometimes life threatening stories about how GA Tech and the world affected me during my college years. A great read that will give young people a glimpse into what the real world has awaiting for them once they leave home. My stories also show how anyone can pay their own way through college without having to borrow the money and ending up in deep debt.
It will soon be available from Amazon.com/books, local bookstores and Kindle. I hope you enjoy reading it.

Making it against all odds!

"Transmogrified" is a journey of one man's triumph over hopelessness. Time and time again Seymour explains how his dedication, hard work, attitude and perseverance won the day in spite of a very challenging family background, lack of money, lack of direction or family mentoring and definitely, a lack of his family's support. The author takes us from his impoverished childhood through his teenage years to young adulthood, explaining in detail how he survived and thrived to become not only a Georgia Tech graduate but also an engineer and husband to the love of his life. He details not only a very difficult family life but outright sabotage by a family who didn't want their son to succeed anymore than they did. In spite of that he remained ever respectful of his family, which was remarkable considering all he endured.

This book is a wonderful encouragement to anyone who thinks that success and a way out of their situation in this world is impossible. I highly recommend it to all people facing adversity or anyone wanting an uplifting read.
