They both had secrets that could drive people apart-or bring them together forever . . .

Keeping his inner demons at bay means Blake Malone has more than enough trouble on his plate. He doesn't need any extra complications. But that's exactly what he gets when, on his way to North Dakota, he leaves his truck unattended-and returns to find a beautiful woman sleeping in the front seat.

Opal Allen seems to have a knack for attracting trouble. Which is why she isn't about to tell her new road trip companion the real reason she needs to hightail it out of town. But Blake has a way of seeing right through her, which is both terrifying and exhilarating. Now her biggest problem is figuring out how to resist their undeniable attraction. Because once this road trip is over, she plans on never seeing Blake again.

I just want to begin by saying wow because this beauty absolutely blew me away. My emotions are all over the damn place and yeah, wow!

ARC received in exchange for an honest review

Blake’s character is one of the most perfectly imperfect characters I’ve ever had the honour of reading. His character is flawed but you can’t help but love him. Growing up with a shitty situation had him second guessing himself and feeling like he was nothing but he’s so much more that ‘nothing’ he’s a strong man battling his demons and although heartbreaking it’s interesting to see.

Opal’s character was just as interesting growing up in the system moving from different homes a lot has a huge affect on her and it’s easy to spot when the character comes to life in the book. She’s fierce and strong and sees the good in everything, she’s like a breath of fresh air and her being is absolutely refreshing in this book.

Blake and Opal together is down right funny, their banter made me laugh a lot and I love that about them. They easily get along with each other understanding what the other is feeling most of the time. I love that they pushed each other. Their chemistry is out of this world and I was hoping from the beginning they’d be each other’s saviours.

I think Lindy did an incredible job with the depression/suicide storyline, she hit all the right points and I couldn’t be more amazed.

This book is about two people who’ve suffered terrible ordeals in life. Two people who are throw together and soon understand each other a little and become friends. It’s about finding ones self and forgiveness and it’s a whole rollercoaster of emotions whilst they do so.

Lindy Zart is an incredibly talented author who brings the story to life with her words. You can’t help but get lost on her words and feel like you’re experiencing the ride with them. If I could give this one more than 5 Stars I would, it deserves so much more.

When Blake leaves his truck unattended for just a short while the last thing he expects is finding someone inside when he gets back. However, there's a young woman asleep in the front seat. Blake doesn't want any company, but she looks like she needs his help, so he offers her a ride. Blake has his own demons to fight and he knows Opal will be trouble. He can't leave her behind though and takes her on a journey, will this be a good decision?

Opal is running from something and she doesn't have much money. She is exhausted when she meets Blake and she can't tell him why she's in his truck. She also can't lie to him, because Blake seems to know exactly what she's thinking. Opal likes Blake, but she isn't ready to be involved with someone. What will they do once they reach their destination? Will Opal eventually be safe or does she have an uncertain future ahead of her and what about Blake, is it fair to include him in her plans?

The Map to You is a wonderful romantic story. I immediately loved Opal. She's quirky, spontaneous and she has the great capacity to completely be herself. She's endearing and sweet and it's hard for Blake to resist her charms. Blake is a good guy struggling with depression, he's trying to fight the demons of his past and he's unsure about his future. Lindy Zart describes his problems in a beautiful realistic way. Blake could use some lightness in his life and Opal is exactly what he needs. He offers Opal safety and stability in return, which makes their relationship interesting from the start. They meet in an unusual way, they have plenty of sparks, their banter is fantastic and their connection is original, which is something I absolutely loved.

Lindy Zart has written a creative love story with many fascinating twists and turns. I often had a smile on my face when I read about Opal, she's funny and gives the story a terrific feelgood factor. I liked that it's being combined with two deep emotional histories. Both Opal and Blake had a complicated childhood, something that moved me and made me feel like I could get close to them through understanding everything about them. I love it when an author achieves that. The Map to You is a versatile enchanting story with plenty of charm and character.

I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.  I am a little late getting this review out as it was released in November.

This story delivered exactly what I expected from it.  Both characters came in to their "relationship" with their own baggage that prevented them from a healthy relationship.  The two were attracted to each other however the previously mentioned baggage was an obstacle.  When they succumb to their physical attraction, it is fireworks.

Essentially the typical formula that one would expect from a story in this genre.  Those seeking their fix will be satisfied with this story.

An added element that I enjoyed was the road trip part.  There are so many places a story can take you when on the road and this did not disappoint.

This seems to be part of a series of some sort in which Blake was previously featured.  I had not read the other story and it in no way impacted my ability to enjoy this one.

Overall a good read!

Two lost souls with their own troubles finds love and acceptance with each other. Opal running away from her past unsure of the future while Blake wanting to let go of the past to find his future. It a heartwarming story that is sure to melt your heart.

However, I have problems with the way the story is written. The too descriptive and flowery prose does a disservice to the story. It took me 3 weeks to finish this story because the first half of the book is full of too much description on what the H/h are doing and thinking to the minute detail and yet it revealed nothing about their past and barely scratch the surface of their characters.

On top of that, it was written in a 1st person POV from both main characters, so its just too much descriptions of what "I'm doing" that drives me nuts. Its only from the 2nd half that the story picks up in pace and explores the main characters personalities.

Plot: 4/5
Characterisation: 3/5
Prose: 3/5 (2 1st POV)
How much I enjoyed it: 2/5

After reading Roomies, I was looking forward to reading The Map to You to get a story from Blake's perspective. It was a nice surprise that this book also had dual narration so we got to know Opal, the female lead, better too.

I liked that bits and pieces of both Blake and Opal's story were revealed throughout the book instead of at the very beginning. It really gives the reader a chance to empathize with them and to understand what has brought them to this point in their lives.

A nice companion novel, if you enjoyed Roomies you will like this book too!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

In The Map To You, Blake and Opal explored the wide open road leaving behind a past full of secrets while chasing a future full of dreams. With themes of happiness, forgiveness, lies, truths, and hope. This story identified the broken pieces of each character and allowed them to accept the choices made in the past by allowing those mistakes to mold them into the individual they were at the moment. With no regrets for their choices only hope for a better future. Lindy did this by focusing on their strengths which the characters drew from each other. The supporting cast of characters added extra layers to these characters. While these characters were only passing memories they held relevance to each of them. This is a contemporary romance with alternating points of view.

I didn't even realize this book was connected with Roomies. Apparently this was a spinoff of Roomies. No worries this book is a standalone and can still be read and enjoyed on its own.

Opal's character had a wondrous outlook on life. Her perspective on life brought forth a light just from the simplest things in life. Opal grew up in a variety of places never having the stability of a solid foundation, but she survived her childhood learning a variety of skills different from most.
Blake's character observed Opal with keen attention. From his observations he was able to look at his life in a new way. Both characters had unfinished business in the past to confront before being able to move forward. Together they bridged a gap where fear resided by offering love, support, and comfort.

Lindy revealed little pieces of their souls from one chapter to the next. Each piece expanded the characters identity and background for how they were raised and how they were in the present.
"...fighting an attraction I don’t entirely understand." This was the beauty of their relationship. They were opposites with an unexplainable passion for each other.
“Life is pretty mundane without a little chaos.” No truer words have every been written.
This story may touch your heart or it might not, but if your an emotional person who gets choked up with the feels than you will enjoy Lindy's book. I recommend this book.

Roomies is one of my all time favorite books, so I have been looking forward to Blake's book for a long time.

Let me preface this by saying that this book has a completely different feel from Roomies. Roomies is light, airy, and hilarious. This book, while it has it's funny moments, is a little bit darker and more serious so do not go into this book expecting a Roomies re-do.

Blake was exactly what I was expecting his character to be. He was outwardly brooding while inside he was nothing but a softie. He had his demons and he was doing his best to overcome them. Honestly, between him and Opal, he definitely grew the most. He has always been and still is one of my favorite male characters in a book.

Opal was a pretty good character. She was definitely out there, but I feel like I didn't get enough information on her. She lied a lot and she told the truth minimally. I felt like I almost got to know who she was deep down, but not entirely. I wanted more emotion from her because, on one hand, she acts like she had this terribly lonely upbringing, but then on the other hand she makes it out like she met all these amazing people. Not that you can't meet a lot of people and be lonely, but the way she spoke about them made it seem like she wasn't. Could just be a case of misinterpretation.

On to the negative. I felt like everything happened very quickly. I think this book would have benefited from another 100 pages of detail. They meet and are annoyed with each other for about 24-36 hours and then they are all over each other without warning. I think the build up is an important process to romance books and this one was lacking in it a bit. It was hard to buy into their chemistry when it seemed like it came on so suddenly.

Overall though, I definitely recommend this book. It's a mostly fun (very) quick read and if you liked Blake in Roomies, you will still love him in this one.

This story was different from your standard romance. Both the H and h have their own emotional problems. But chance has thrown them together and they gradually come to be friends and then lovers. But things aren’t resolved right away and Zart provides a somewhat leisurely exploration of their characters through alternating narrations from each person’s point of view.

The hero, Blake, finds a sprite of a girl sleeping in his truck. Opal is fleeing town for some undisclosed reason that we don’t find out until about ⅔ of the way of the book. We also gradually find out what problems Blake has faced in his past and is trying to rise above. He’s damaged and not looking for romance or much of anything except making it through the day. Opal, on the other hand, has learned to seize joy from little moments that surprise her. Together they can find themselves and find their way to fulfillment. It really was a sweet read that felt a lot more realistic than many romance where the guy is some Alpha hunk unlike anyone we might meet in real life. The only departure from reality that really stuck out is how Blake is living. He doesn’t seem to have a job, yet he is planning to fulfill his grandfather’s dream and has money to spend and time to volunteer. It bothered me a bit that that wasn’t cleared up.

I was given a free ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Decent Story

I received the book in a Goodreads give away in exchange for an honest review. I liked the overall storyline and enjoyed getting to know Blake and Opal.

The main reason I gave the book a 3 star rating was because of the language, it was WAY too flowery for my personal taste, and some of the editing.

Blake and Opal are both flawed individuals who are trying to do better. Ms Zart does flesh their characters out beautifully. As their individual stories are revealed, you can understand why they are the way they are.

As the mother of a high school daughter who lost 4 friends to suicide in one year, I liked how Ms Zart brought that into the story line. No one committed suicide in the book, but it was one of the issues dealt with. It did help open my eyes to what a depressed person can go through when there's no good support system for them.

I liked the way the storyline was resolved. Both characters realized their faults and they had to work on themselves before they could truly be together. They weren't hoping the other would fill the voids in their lives.

Overall, the story was good, I just found it too flowery. If you don't mind excessive descriptions, I recommend this book.

Lindy Zart always writes beautiful stories with a lot of heart. Her novels progress at a nice steady pace giving the reader just what we need for the storyline to develop. Her books give you tears as well as laughter. The Map To You follows the pattern perfectly.

The main characters, Blake and Opal, happen on an unlikely road trip. It turns into quite the adventure where both try to find themselves and overcome their demons. They are both on this unconventional journey to find their "home" or rightful place in the vast world. As feelings flare, what will happen when they must part ways?

This is the much anticipated Roomies spin off. The Map To You can completely stand alone. But for those already familiar with Blake and his history, you will not want to miss this one. I would recommend reading Roomies first just because I loved that book as well but you do not need to in order to read this one.

Overall, another great novel from Lindy Zart tackling some tough topics with tact and tenacity.

The Map To You by Lindy Zart is simply phenomenal. Blake and Opal’s story might be my favorite out of all of Lindy Zart’s books. I know I say this about every character that she writes. Lindy Zart has a way of writing perfectly flawed characters. They know that they are flawed, but yet they still keep going. I always feel a connection with her characters.

Blake’s personal story was heartbreaking. Opal’s story was just as heartbreaking. Lindy Zart tackled the serious issues with seriousness and with a twist of humor. Throughout their story, you get to see their character growth individually and together. This is why I am a huge fan of Lindy Zart. She knows how to make you cry with one paragraph, and with the next you’re smiling. Thank you Lindy Zart for being an amazing writer.

The dialogue was on point. The drama was on point. The dynamics between Opal and Blake was amazing. The secondary characters added oomph to the story. I will be recommending this story to everyone. I give it 5/5 Platypires.

I want to thank Lindy Zart, author and Goodreads First Reads Giveaway for the Kindle eBook copy of The Map to You ~ A Least Likely Romance than I won in the Giveaway.

Blake Malone is traveling to North Dakota when a tiny young woman gets in his pickup and falls asleep outside a convenience store while he was inside. This starts an adventure with Opal Allen traveling with him to his home outside Bismark, North Dakota.

Blake is a very private man and a loner, while Piper aka several other names is just as alone but lives an irresponsible and rather off-beat and carefree way. The adventure includes visiting a circus and ending of preforming under the big top, a midnight swim in a very cold pond during a rainstorm, the demon cat and its toy and a ride on a four wheeler. The most unlikely romance develops for these two seemly opposites until they just work.

Issues of self esteem, self worth and depression are part of the story and giving back to the community makes The Map to You an interesting and different romance.

Would rate this a 4+. First off I want to say this title is perfect for the story because the main characters, Blake and Opal, are on an emotional journey to find themselves. Both of the characters have let circumstances define who (where) they are and they need to take back control of their destinies and once they do that they can find their way back to "home", to each other. I am not sure if the psychology/sociology of their problems (emotional abuse, depression and abandonment) is true by rational evidence but it feels true to the heart and the dual narrative works well for showing where they are in their journey. I would have liked a little bit more of the physical journey, instances like the circus and their interactions with the "homicidal cat", but maybe I am just being greedy. Would recommend.

The map to you is a very interesting story between two very broken people. They both have a lot of baggage from past. But the difference is that Black is still caught up in the dark when Opal is a ray of sunshine and although her life was and still is hard she can find something good in all the bad. Black and Opal meet in very strange unusual circumstance and although their first interaction can be their last they end up traveling together. On the road, they start to reveal a little bit of their true self and past and in the way is liberating especially for Black. I liked both of them they were unique in their way. All the past and previous decision had led them to who they are today and what I see is two good persons with a caring heart. Unusual but a great read.

- Received an Advance Reader Copy in exchange for a fair review -
An enjoyable read with great characters, with lots of baggage – in the beginning, I loved the brooding hero (“Like a dark, imperfect, savage angel”, quote from ARC), but then he became more explicit (and less appealing); as for the heroine, I really appreciated her integrity and selfishness. I felt that in the second part their narrative voices became quite similar (the story is told in dual first-person point of view).
Some very serious issues are depicted and handled in the story. Was the resolution too easy?
I found that the dialogue, in the second half, was sometimes a bit stilted.
I liked the sense of ephemeral both characters share and later overcome, of course, in their beautiful and emotional reunion.

4.5 Stars - Lindy Zart delivers all the feels with Blake and Opal’s story in The Map to You. This unlikely duo will have you falling head over heels with their witty banter and electric chemistry. They broke my heart and made it soar, reminding me of the strength and beauty that can be born of a painful past. This book was an adventure from beginning to end and I enjoyed every moment of the sweet, sassy, and steamy ride. Blake and Opal are unlike any book couple I’ve met before and I adored every twist and turn of their journey.

Blake was so different than the man I first met in Roomies. He definitely had his cocky, flirtatious moments, but Blake proved to be so much more than I ever could have expected. Lindy Zart expertly developed this character over the course of the story, utilizing his relationship with Opal to bring out a more serious and compassionate side to Blake that made my heart ache. There was also an unexpected depth and raw vulnerability to this hero that made him utterly swoon-worthy.

Opal was equally intriguing, captivating me with her quirky personality and impulsive behavior from the very first page. As surprising as she was endearing, I really enjoyed getting to know this heroine. She was a puzzle, I definitely wanted to solve and I loved how she both frustrated and enthralled Blake. I would have liked to dive a little deeper with Opal, get a better idea of her past and where she came from in order to really connect with her, but overall, her insecurities and fears allowed me to relate to her and I had fun losing myself in such a unique and vibrant personality.

An emotional rollercoaster from start to finish, The Map to You kept me guessing. Lindy Zart’s writing was colorful and overflowing with genuine feeling. I love that this author isn’t afraid to tackle the tough stuff and I found myself desperately rooting for Blake and Opal to find their way through everything their lives had thrown at them, together. Roomies fans will be thrilled to see more of Kennedy and Graham in this book, too. Getting to touch base with this adorable couple was icing on the cake. Lindy Zart serves up another satisfying, memorable, and one-of-a-kind romance with The Map to You!

I'm rarely one to rate a book anything over 4 stars. I received this book as a giveaway win and I have to tell you I couldn't put it down. I binge read Blake and Opal's story in less than 24 hours. I love Lindy Zart's writing style. It keeps a steady pace, its captivating, and this story was just so raw and real. I'm not a big romance reader but "The Map To You" was so different from the typical love story. First of all, I appreciate that Opal doesn't always have matching underwear on (unrealistic for me) and I learned more about the characters than their favorite positions. This story just pulled on my heart strings and made me laugh out loud. I couldn't wait to turn another page and see what these misfits with hidden pasts had in store and how their love story would progress. It all started with Blake finding Opal asleep in his truck and spontaneous road trip plans he wasn't expecting. On the way to their destination hilarity and the sweetest, most meaningful adventures ensue.

10+++ stars! Blake & Opal's story is full of heart and humor, and also some heartache. All of it is wonderfully told and an absolute joy to read! I was sucked in from the beginning & didn't want to put it down.

I had some trouble getting into & connecting w/ Kennedy & Graham in Roomies, and wasn't such a big Blake fan in that story, either. But something about him tugged at my heart, and I was SUPER excited that he was getting his own story!

He's broody on the outside, but a big ol' softie on the inside, and Opal is absolutely perfect for him. She makes him smile, and laugh, and cracks open the heart he thinks he doesn't have. She is feisty & spunky & sassy & I adore her! This story has found it's way to my top reads of the year!! : )

The Map To You is a least likely romance. Blake and Opal have both had very hard lives. Blake's made a lot of devastating mistakes in his life and he struggles with depression and addiction. Opal is on the run from her past with no place to run to. From the moment they meet there is a deep connection. Their souls recognize the broken pieces in each other. I found myself completely consumed by these two characters. They touched my heart and soul. I laughed and I cried a lot. Most importantly, I could not stop reading this book! This story touches on some very important subjects that need to be brought into the light and talked about more often.

This was such a good story so full of emotion, heartbreak and love. I really enjoyed it!
For one seemingly so flawed, Blake is just so lovable. I couldn't help but just want and hope for the very best for him to finally find happiness and contentment.
Opal has the ability to be/do that for him. Even though she has baggage of her own she shines like the sun and brings that to her relationship with Blake. He needs her light. I love them together! They get along so well and have incredible chemistry.
This is my first Lindy Zart book and it won't be my last. She is such a gifted storyteller.

This is the first book I have read by this Author and it most definitely will not be my last. I won this book in a Giveaway from Goodreads, and for this I say thank you very much!

This book about two young broken people just trying to figure out this crazy thing called LIFE. They both come from different backgrounds, both dark, but in different ways. From the beginning of the story you can tell that they are both destined to make changes in their lives in order to repair what has been broken and just improve themselves.

This was a wonderful book, and I look forward to reading many more by this gifted Author!

Every now and then I like to reach outside of my comfort zone and read something fun and cute. Having read Roomies by Zart, I had to read this one since it's a standalone sequel. The Map to You fits the bill perfectly! I loved Blake and Opal (though I'm biased when it comes to the name Opal... it's my birthstone!) Their initial encounter is less "meet cute" and more "meet strange." I think If I found a random person sleeping in my car that I'd flip out, and not in a good way.

The Map to You is a wonderful romance full of humor, with a dose of angst, and a deserving ending. I thoroughly enjoyed it. ****4 stars****

Big thanks to Lyrical Shine Publishing and NetGalley for an ARC copy for review

Ever since reading Roomies, I was really curious to know more about the mystery that is Blake Malone. And Lindy Zart made me a happy camper to have his story. It was endearing, sad, awkward, funny and romantic. I wasn’t sure about Opal at first, but she really grew and I think she is perfect for Blake. Not to mention it was great seeing Graham and Kennedy again. Fans of Roomies will definitely enjoy this book.

I appreciated this book. That is not usually how I start a review, but it best represents my feelings. These characters were damaged, knowingly so, and in meeting each other, they started to heal. They confronted their pasts that pulled them down, and started to help others as well. I absolutely loved how they met! Opal is such a fun person. She saw the positives and made Blake see them as well. The ending was perfect! It was a wonderful book. I will remember these two for quite a while. I won this book on Goodreads.

Blake was a mess in Roomies, the misunderstood half brother of Graham. He was charming, troubled, quirky and alone. A random meeting has Opal joining him on a trip home. A personal journey that meant something to both of them and changed their future. This was a very enjoyable read, never once did I get bored, it's humorous and heartbreaking, though short-lived. Each Malone brother has their own book but could easily be read without the other. Wonderfully told as Zart is a talented storyteller. I was lucky to receive an early copy through Netgalley.

Beautiful with a lot of heart and emotions. Opal and Blake are wonderfully real. They meet in an unconventional way that takes them on an adventure. An Adventure with both trying to find themselves. Both trying to overcome inner demons. Neither expected to find their home in each other. I love how Opal and Blake feed off each other and push each other to become better. The growth that Blake and Opal go through is amazing. A wonderful read by Lindy Zart that is so worth the one click.

Emotional and believable romance. This was an enjoyable and easy read. Opal and Blake are an unlikely pair, but you see how they fit together quickly. The characters feel real, with a realistic depth of emotion and a meaningful connection to each other. My heart broke for the hardships both Blake and Opal faced and rooted for them as they overcame their pasts to create a happy future.

Yet another great story from this great author. Although I am not a modern day genre reader, Lindy always manages to get me reading her books. I believe it is because all of the books I have read of hers teach a life lesson. For an author to readily influence a 65 year old is saying something about their ability to write.
