Rate this book
This is the story Maryrose and Robert (Bob) England, a decorated WWII soldier, from when they met in 1941 until the aftermath of the war. It's a tale of how the war affected their relationship and opens a window on a small part of the story of how the war affected soldiers and their families. It is a love story. The book includes commentary from the author as well as copies of the actual letters sent from Bob to Maryrose. The story also traces the path of the 14th Armored Division (14th) from Camp Campbell, Kentucky, to Nazi Germany. The 14th was at first part of General Alexander Patch's 7th Army in Europe and later part of General George Patton's 3rd Army that went into Germany. The 14th was named "The Liberators".
