Rory's friends used to joke that for her to meet a guy on her tiny island, he'd have to practically fall out of the sky. But she never thought it would actually happen!
Both Rory's sister and her best friend are getting married in the next six months, and she's not jealous at all. She's happy, she tells herself, even though she's been single for... never mind...
She's got her career to keep her warm at night. So what if the business is struggling? Things will turn around. But before she can get her finances in order, she's got to get rid of the stranger who just crashed his red Ferrari into the stone wall behind her house. The stranger with the long hair, rippling muscles, abs for days, and tantalizing fingers that can do sheer magic.
Musical magic. And from what the tabloids say about all his women, probably a lot more.
Rory won't be fooled by rockstar Arsen Ford's charm, or the fact that her knees get weak when his dark eyes seem to bore into her soul, or the way his bulging muscle sends a tingle to her core.
But if Arsen gets his way, he's going to shake her all night long...
*** Slow burn becomes eruption in this, the first novel from Mona Cox. Guaranteed to be sweet, sassy, and fun. No cheating or cliffhangers. Happily Ever After? Always, babe ***
Loved this book! Grabbed me from the beginning and didn't let go! Even though this is a different type of Mona read, it was still a Romantically captivating read full of intrigue. Arsen crashed his car into Rory's house after an alcoholic bender. The two undoubtedly have immediate sexual attraction & tension towards each other but his Music Career & Her Small Business don't exactly hold much hope for anything as they are different as night & day or are they? After he spends the night passed out on her couch & a little more time waiting for his bandmates to come get him he can't seem to shake thoughts of Rory. She's got what his body & mind never knew he wanted & vice versa but how will it ever work? Get your copy today and witness first hand how these two lonely souls find their happily ever after. Arsen crashes into Rory's life, and I do mean crashes. She's an independent woman, has a career, struggling but a career. Attempting to get her finances in order and she does need a distraction of a gorgeous man, or does she, after all her sister and best friend are looking forward to married life in the few months ahead. Rory know Arsen's reputation with the ladies, she doesn't want to be a notch on his belt. Can these two find love, passion and a future that works for them? Two different worlds.
This is one sweet sensual journey for Rory. Rory inherited a house from her grandmother on an island far from LA, she is contended and somewhat happy in her life, until one day destiny send a rock star crashing into her life and her house! Arsen is the epitome of a bad boy rock star, sex, drugs and booze, but he's fed up with the life and is looking for something? Writing music use to come easily to him, but not anymore. Can his stay on the island clear his writers block? Or can Rory make help him? This is a little different from the other Mona Cox's books and we can see the nice impact Jess Bentley brings to the book. I volunteered to read this book.
This rock star romance wasn't bad but it could have been better. It just didn't have enough interaction between Rory and Arsen to provide any romance let alone have them falling in love. For most of the story they weren't even in shouting distance of each other. Also, her parents and sister are complete jerks. I really wanted her to tell them off! I don't feel I got to know Arsen at all and barely skimmed the surface of Rory. I'm not gonna lie, this book was just an okay read for me.

Started off well enough, but a little less than halfway through, the story became really plodding. Also, despite the heroine being a good person, I also found it hard to get behind her. On the one hand she came off as immature and unworldly yet at other times her dialogue made her sound like she was in her 20s going on 70. There wasn’t much from/about the hero. I didn’t want to quit on the book, but I ended up skimming the last half to get to the end.
Best part of a surprise 3 book bundle, I had a hard time putting this story down. I found the leads relatable, playing with a light tension that is a sweet tease. My main problem is that Rory does not communicate very well. I understand that her family is rather difficult, but why not at least try? Feels like the family is painted purely bad, but that is not rational: why isn't there more shades of grey? Otherwise, sweet and fun read.
What a great pairing of two great authors. This story has all kinds of twists and turns and lots of fun stuff as well as lots of hot loving. This is a story that I am glad I got to read. I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.
It was a good book with good characters and storyline but it wasn't steamy at all so if you want steamy this book isn't for you but if you want just a love story you'll love this book. It was sweet and charming.
Rory and Arsen were fantastic. As usual I was not disappointed. Enjoyed beginning to end. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
I really enjoyed this story.Arsen and Rory seemed to come from 2 different worlds and not compatiable at all one rich and can have anything he wants and one struggling to make ends meet.but if you look closely they both want and need the same thing. The characters were fantastic and with a sense of humor I loved engaging each other until they felt comfortable. It was sweet and so sexy. This was a sweet romance about a girl who falls for the rock star thar crashes his car into her house and heart. Rory isn't the type to go after rock stars or go to parties, and her family sucks big time. Arson is having band problems and has an annoying reality star always hanging around him. These two keep being drawn to each other and it keeps not working out. I loved this, and I received an arc.
Two amazing authors, Jess Bentley and Mona Cox, have combined to write an awesome book. Rory vs. Rockstar is the story of Rory and Arsen. Rory is a struggling bookstore owner/t-shirt salesperson/artist who has inherited her grandmothers house on the island of Montcove alienating her further from her parents and sister. Arsen is a rockstar who was drinking and driving ans swerved to miss someting that ran across the road and ended up running his ferrari into the side of Rory's house. After the accident Arsen passes out on Rory's couch. There is something between them from the first time they meet but neither acknowledges it. Everytime they meet the connection gets stronger. Both of them have things in their pasts they are not proud of and are letting thoe things rule their current decisions. Their relatonship is a rolllercoaster ride. This book has twists, turns, highs and lows. Another great book in the Mona Cox series. I definitely recommend this book.
I opened this book expecting what I've come to associate with the Mona Cox titles I've read before: a quick, flirty read with a lot of steam; centered around a core group of girlfriends and their lives in the NYC area - a literary nod to Sex in the City. This book is a pretty radical departure from those previous books. First, it's set on the opposite side of the country in LA and Montcove, a small island off the California coastline. It's also a little 'heavier' emotionally, and while it has a lot of sexual tension there's not as much actual action as we've gotten used to. This title is much longer than any of the other Mona Cox books I've read, and it needed to be to work through all of the baggage that Rory and Arsen are packing around. I loved these characters. And I was more than just slightly invested in seeing them get their happily-ever-after. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.
Two people running parallel to each other, both wanting and needing the same thing, both fighting past demons meet on accidental terms, when their two separate worlds collide. Both feel instant attraction but fight against it, but once they give in their world becomes sassy, sweet, with a roller coaster with twists and turns, highs and lows. Rory and Arsen couldn't be more different. She likes her simplistic life as a bookstore owner. Arsen is a rockstar. Their story is full of excitement that neither of them were prepared for, yet it was a slow burn until they could really admit their feelings for each other. The ladies from the other Mona Cox books made appearances, and helped round out the cast of characters. Although this book wasn't as steamy as other books in the series, it was still very engaging and an enjoyable read. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Oh sweet loveable hugable Rory. Lonely on her little island until Arsen runs into her house. Literally. These two are a sweet slow burn with undeniable chemistry. But something keeps coming up. I absolutely love this couple! They will be hard to top for me. And can we just take a moment and admire that amazing cover! Fabulous in every way. I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars. When I started I expected the true to form Mona Cox book, quick and hot, a wham bam thank you ma'am book. What we got instead was a slow sensual burn that left me like WOW. Grab this book and read Rory and Arsens story. *I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book *
I am voluntarily leaving my honest review on this book based on an advanced readers copy I received. Mona and Jess did an outstanding job bringing us a story full of excitement and some hot sexy scenes. Rory and Arsen's story is definitely a one-click!
I loved this story; it was a sweet and sultry romance that hits all the notes that I love in my romances- steamy, sexy, sweet, enticing plot and engaging characters (Rory & Arsen). Rory doesn’t let Arsen’s fame go to her head or let him use his fame to overwhelm her. They are from two different worlds yet they connected and the heat, the chemistry between them is fantastic!! Do these two find love and a future that can work or will their differences make it where they end up parting ways, for good? I enjoyed this book, not as erotic as previous books but still just as good, for this has a good plot and good characters. My rating: 4.5 stars **** "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
A great new book from Jess Bentley and Mona Cox! An unexpected visitor in the middle of the night doesn't make the best frist impression ever, but can be the beginning of something amazing if you have the courage to leap. Rory loves her home on the island of Montcove, but is stuggling to keep her head above the water of adulthood-bills. Arsen thought the retreat to Montcove with his band would help with creativity, but the distractions of fame and L.A. followed them to the island, which sends him speeding down the road in his car and with a bottle in his hand when he crashes the car and crashes into Rory's world. I loved Rory and Arsen's story! A regular, ordinary woman who is strong enough to handle the rockstar, even if she doesn't always believe in her own power over him. Rory vs Rockstar is about Rory and Arsen. Rory lives in the house her grandmother left her and runs a small bookstore on the island town of Montcove, that has recently become a celebrity vacation destination. She is content there, alone, but with the bookstore not selling much and her online t-shirt store not selling much either, she's worried about being able to get by and keep the house. Arsen is the guitarist and songwriter for Insurrection. They've come to Montcove to get away from LA and write some new songs. It's just not happening, and one night, Arsen is out driving his Ferrari (quite drunk), and winds up crashing into the wall of Rory's house.
Rory allows him to come inside and agrees not to call the police and instead let his manager handle his car and her house. Rory sees an arrogant, rich jerk who thinks he can do whatever he wants. But the next morning, when his bandmates and manager show up, she starts seeing another side to him, and starts to like him. Arsen thought Rory was an uptight woman at first, but as he got to know her, he realized he really liked her. But how could anything work between them?
This was a cute story with a very slow build to any kind of romance. We got some of what Arsen was thinking in the beginning of the book, but none at all later on. The storyline itself was good, but as this was a Mona Cox book (& the first full length novel), I was expecting a lot more steam/heat/sex than we ever got in this book. I don't normally give away anything in my reviews, but there wasn't even a KISS until almost the very end. I would categorize this as a sweet romance, with one slightly steamy scene at the very end.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. What a great read! I really enjoyed Rory and Arsen's story. Can two people from different worlds find love? Rory is an independent woman who likes the quite life she has. Arsen is a rock star who lives in the limelight surrounded by many. Though he is tiring of that lifestyle. He literally comes crashing into her life. I though these two were great together. Maybe not has wild as her friends from other Mona Cox books. Rory is still a woman who knows what she want when she puts her mind to it. Loved this story and can not wait to read more of this great series.
Jess Bentley and Mona Cox combine to make one hell of a book. You don't want to mis Rory Vs RockStar, Arsen. It takes a few times, almost literally, of tuem running into eachother, but the chemistry is most certainly there!
Get yourself prepared for this Rockin Rollercoaster Ride!
