It's a fun book to read but what it eventually comes down to: know your stuff. Wow -- such enlightenment :)

Short read, done in twenty minutes. The key to winning arguments is....

to prepare and have actual knowledge about the subject you are debating for.

I would recommend other books to learn how to debate, think about books on informal logic and critical thinking.
Its not bad, because its a short read, but i am more interested in academic works.

Really short read but has some fantastic useful points!

This was a really interesting book. It only took me about 25 minutes to read but it’ll probably be keeping it around to refresh my memory now and again. When it comes to debating and winning said debates it all boils down to effective communication and being able to listen, process and think through the opposing argument quickly and be able to come up with a reasonable argument as to why your argument is better. This books lays it all out and discusses debating in a friendly and conversational manner. I’m really looking forward to using my new found debating techniques on my next friendly debate amongst friends!

I actually believe that the most promising strategy to win arguments is to be right. Otherwise, what would be the meaning of "victory" in such an argument?

Some good ideas, however, in places the grammar is clumsy and unrefined. Focused on a formal debate with judges and 'teams'.

Just.. don’t. It’s a waste of time and paper. Horrible orthography, lacking logic and structure. It’s like an essay written by a hungover student talking down to a kindergarten child. I’m sure it might have helped someone who was in a big rush, but if you want to learn more about debating, this is not the book.

Later edit 09/03/2021 - it’s also plagiarising Mark Forsyth’s “The elements of Eloquence”, which I’m currently reading and LOVING!
