Lower Level Juvenile Fiction
Grade 3-6
The story start talking about Sunset Shimmer and her five friends. Apple Jack, Fluttershy, Pinky Pie Rainbow Dash and Twinkle Sparkle. It was a friendship to remember with treasured memories. Sunset had a huge job to select the best photo for the yearbook. Her friends dashed around competing with each other by participating in the most clubs to be photographed or be the most popular. This became stress for her because she cared for the all. This led to much stress on her. However, the magic of friendship caused her friends to realize that she made a sacrifice for them.
Overall, it homes in on friendship. A friendship to Remember; The Equestria Girls is an awesome first chapter book. I would recommend that it’s read before middle to show how much pressure the expectations are to be a friend with more than one person.
