#1 up-and-coming Author in Fantasy Romance!

Ruth Anne Scott was born and raised in the Shire of Middle America (otherwise known as Telluride, CO) and spend her childhood hiking, sightseeing, and exploring the wilderness around. As a young dreamer and creator her favorite pastime was and still is to sit on the moss covered banks of San Miguel river to write and create her fantasy worlds.

As a postgraduate she spent much of her adult life working at Amnesty International, doing research into women's rights abuses around the world. Ruth continued to write fantasy as a means to escape the harsh realities of the world around her.

This is the reason Ruth likes to incorporate strong and savvy women in her fantasy works.

The boring part: Now a full time author and artist, Ruth can usually be found hunched over a keyboard or tablet, frantically trying to get the images and words in her head out and onto the screen before they drive her mad. She's addicted to coffee and can be found at the local coffee shops. :)

This is the first time reading about Daleko and I found the story to be very good in some areas and good in others.

The descriptions of the people are interesting and very different from what I have read from other stories. However; it seemed to me that some of the interaction was stilted and forced.

As for Brayden and Mazuna, the growth of love between felt natural and fun. I did notice that the main " growth" in the relationship was done by Brayden and very little by Maz. We all need to improve for each other to be balanced but the relationship I read was not going to be balanced for long.

>>>>> Review Focusing on Book 1 – Alien Virgin <<<<<

This is a 3-book awesome set. I am focusing on Book 1 as a representative sample of the goodies inside! Buy the Box Set and enjoy them all!!!

Cal Brayden had messed up relations on Daleko when he cheated the Ka out of their share of the healing pallatium mineral they were allowed to mine – as long as the Ka got their fair share. They never reported it when Cal took more than allowed. But in 3 years when he returned for more, his crew was locked up and tortured. Mission Control was not very forgiving of that, especially because the healing properties of the pallatium were highly valued. His co-pilot had made a deal that eventually freed them all. Now Cal had to sit through another meeting where his shame would be trotted out for all to see… again.

Cal was running through the events in his mind and missed the conversation until he heard Galactic Ambassador Maz Tyn speaking. A two-person team had to go to Holn and Maz was objecting to needing a second person along. Cal was a hothead and not what was needed on this diplomatic mission to negotiate for land. And Maz had a secret she did not want revealed, especially to Cal who seemed to have issues with aliens.

Maz went home and stopped to chat with her mother. Belle asked about the newly assigned mission and warned her to be extra careful. Things were happening on Holn that even the top brass wasn’t yet aware of, and it could be very dangerous. But she would not elaborate further. So many secrets! Would this affect the mission? How was she going to complete the mission with Cal Brayden’s hot temper and anti-alien attitude?

This was a fantastic, well-written story that was fast-paced and intriguing! The characters were presented so well that the reader is prepared for the main characters to have a challenging time of it! Fortunately, Book 2 sweeps you right into the start of the mission itself and promises a wonderful adventure. Seriously, you will not want to skip this Box Set! There are so many things going on and so much potential for disaster!

The characters are multi-dimensional and the romance between Mazuna and Brayden is not instantaneous and believable. Their attraction for each other lies just under the surface through nearly all their interactions.

After Brayden’s screw up of his last mission to Daleko, he is lucky to get one more chance on Mazuna’s diplomatic mission to Holn. Despite her attraction to Brayden, she is not sure he is right for the job but agrees to work with him anyway. Brayden thinks that different species should not mate. He doesn’t know that Mazuna has a thirty-year-old secret that she has been keeping.

Initially it seems like they are trying to make the relationship work not only for the mission but because of their attraction for each other. The experience changes them both for the better as they grow to love each other which is evident long before they say it.

The world building was excellent and the different species of aliens were interesting. Fans of this author should be pleased with this story. Those who are not already fans should be come fans. This was a really good read with no cliff hanger.

Daleko Mates II is the follow up story of Daleko Mates I. I definitely recommend reading the books in order but I do think the author did a great job of providing just enough back story of Book One to jog the memory so a re-read of the first set of stories is not necessary.

Since Brayden was a bit of a prick in the first book, I wasn't sure what to think of him being the main character this time around. The author did his character justice. I actually enjoyed getting to know the man behind the persona and looked forward to Maz recognizing he was a changed man and the interactions that followed.

All in all it was a very fast paced, action and adventure story that I read very quickly and would highly recommend.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy.

Great continuation to the Daleko Mates Series. This fast paced story is filled with action and suspense. The good thing about this set is that you get to read all the stories in one sitting there also many twists and turns that you didn't even see coming overall a very enjoyable and entertaining read. I voluntarily read and review this ARC I haven't been compensated in any way.

Romance on an alien planet. This is a continuation of Daleko Mates, but it can easily be read out of order. This one has a lot of politics between planets and species. But the main theme is finding a balance of peace without violence. The two main characters are fun to read about. He has issues with controlling his temper and it has gotten him in a lot of trouble and almost started a war between planets. She is an ambassador for earth. She is extremely intelligent but is seen as cold and aloof. But she has a secret that can't be told or she may loose everything.

I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of the book.

First book threw me.

When your main character, from another book, is an idiot, a jerk and in a-hole hole, you can't love him in another book. I really tried to get into this next volume of blood and I can't so I just read on for clarity and the story. I appreciate the continuation, her writing was ok, but I couldn't love the characters.
