I was thankful to be home from work, but seeing as how I was a mother of two… seven-year-old twins, a girl and a boy, to be exact. My job wasn’t quite done, yet. I still had to make Luchi and Luna something to eat before it was time for us to call it a night. I had worked a twelve-hour shift at Thornton’s. I was thankful when seven o’clock hit. Thanks to my sister and granny, I had a great support system for the twins. Their father hasn’t been much of any help since I got pregnant at seventeen. I wasn’t pressuring my kids’ father Lance to help too much with them, because anytime he came around, he was a huge pain in my ass. The only good thing that came out of me and Lance’s relationship were Luchi and Luna. I was a single mother, struggling, but by the grace of God, I always found a way to get by. I lived in a three-bedroom house, thanks to being on section 8, I got a decent amount in food stamps, although I worked like a slave at Thornton’s, and I’ve had the same Blue Toyota Camry since I was seventeen, but it was getting me and my babies where we needed to go, so I couldn’t complain. “Are you tired, mama?” Luna asked, climbing in my bed. My eyes were getting heavy, but I needed to make sure my babies were straight before I could close them. “Yes, my Luna, my feet are killing me, but it’s all worth it knowing, I can buy you everything you need.” I tickled Luna’s belly. “Mama, while you're in here playing with Luna, I’m in the other room hungry.” Luchi said, walking into my room. It was clear to me he had an attitude. “Luchi, your hot dogs are on the stove now.” I explained to my child, as if he was my parent and not the other way around. “Hot dogs? You’re not going to fry me some chicken?” “No, Luchi, I’ve been standing on my feet all day. I’m tired. I’m off tomorrow. I promise to make you a nice meal. Tonight, it’s chili dogs on the menu.” “Man, okay.” Luchi climbed into my bed with an attitude. “Mama, can we watch Home?” Luna asked, curling up under me, resting her head on my breasts. “Naw, man, I’m tired of watching that movie. That’s all you want to watch.” Luchi yawned, curling under me as well. “Sorry, Luna, I agree with your brother. Let’s give Home a rest tonight.” “Okay.” Luna pouted. Kissing her forehead, I took in my kids’ features, and my babies looked nothing like me. Everything about them screamed Lance. My skin was the color of a Hershey bar, but the twins inherited their daddy's light-skinned complexion. Luna had long curly hair that I often styled in a bun on the top of her head. My baby had the most beautiful smile that could melt even the coldest heart. My Luchi was the most handsome little boy I had ever laid eyes on. I knew he would break many of hearts one day. Although I struggled day-to-day, I made sure my kids never went without, and I made sure their wardrobe was the latest. At six, Luchi already thought he was a trendsetter. I kept his curly fro tapered on the side. My handsome baby rocked a big diamond in his ear. Luchi's vision wasn’t quite a hundred percent, so he wore glasses. At first, he hated the thought of wearing glasses until I bought him a pair of Ray Bans. I didn’t have much in this world, but my twins were everything to me. Watching the twins sleep peacefully under me, my eyes slowly closed. Sliding myself and the twins under my cover, I tried to get as comfortable as possible in my bed, the best way I could with my two little tiny monsters glued to me. The whole way home, I was praying the twins wouldn’t give me a hard time when it came to getting ready for bed. Normally, it would take forever to get Luchi to fall asleep, but I guess God heard my prayers. Kissing both my babies goodnight, I joined them in dreamland.
I'm loving this storyline and meeting each of the characters. The author did a wonderful job of developing Ramsey and Zoo, while incorporating their tribes into the story. A thorough line by line edit would have made this a 5 star review.
Zoo is a rude jerk... and I understood Ramsey breaking things off, but dealing with death is really hard on the heart. This story just went so smoothly, I love each and every character.... the drama was simply non stop and juiCy!!!! 5 Stars just bcuz Lochi was just too grown and hilarious. Great job Tyrecka know bring part 2 plse!!!!
Mannn this book was fire from the beginning to the end. I couldn't put it down for a second. where do I begin? I loved Rory because she ha e zero fucks about anybody and she spoke her mind. I think either Lance bitch made self took Lulu or Zoo has her. I hope nothing bad happened to her. Ramsey is sweetheart and loves her children with all of her heart. I hope Zoo and Ramsey can get it together because they love each other. I can't wait til the next book drops please don't keep us waiting too long. Thanks was a masterpiece right here.!
First time reading this authors work but it won't be the last. Zoo attitude was something else but I loved him. You knew straight up what you were getting with him so you could either take it or leave it. I hope him Rah get it together. I took away a star be it seemed like the twins age changed so much in the story. Sometimes they were 6 sometimes they were 7. That part was confusing. I want to know what is really Jen's problem. I'll be reading part 2!
It's frustrating reading about this couple trying to get it together when they are so good together. Love the family dynamics of both families, with the exception of sis. Zoo really has some issues that he needs to resolve. Lucky and Luna are the stars, they are hilarious. It getting ready to be chaos. Hope whoever has Luna is prepared. Time for Rah to boss up!!
Zoo is Bae no matter how crazy he is. I enjoyed reading this read, and characters were relatable and the drama kept me on the edge of my seat. It was hard for me to put this book down bing that with each page it got more interesting. I'm rooting for Ramsey and Zoo but that cliffhanger has me anxious to see what's going to transpire in part 2! #PageTurner
Lord I need for Luna to be found safely cause Zoo and Licui (twin) is fixing to cut a fool. I believe Jen is the reason Lance has showed back up with her hating self, but I'm glad that Rory is home to straighten her out. The ex sister acts like she want Zoo for herself. Ready for pt2!
I waited to read this book and boy was it worth it. Surprisingly good. Although Zoo was a former hood boy and very rude I like his character the most. Ramsey was portrayed as a simple yes girl when she was truly a good mother and girlfriend to Zoo. With all of the drama surrounding them I wonder if their relationship will survive. Reading the next book now.
This book sent me through a series of emotions!! First let me say I loved the kids characters! I was suspended in a fit of laughter! No I don't condone potty mouth kids, but this worked. 😂 My heart went out to Zoo's back story and now I'm on to part two. After that cliffhanger I might need a drink.
Mane this book was long asf first off and that lil boy should not be cussing like a sailor that's not cute at all the way he talk and zoo so hot and cold I would've been went about my business but let the kids keep in contact cause they are attached and why the reason for Jen being such a b@!# was never revealed
This book was absolutely the bomb.com and I say this because. The characters actually had time to mesh well together before taking it to another level. This is my 1st read by you, but I promise you it won't be my last read. I am tunned in for part two of this book.
This was a very awesome read. I truly enjoyed this book from the beginning to the end. I definitely will be purchasing part two. This was the first book I read by this author and she did her thing. Great job.
I love Zoo for Ramsey. But he has to let Love go. I wonder who to Luna. And are the ready for crazy Zoo. He's about to make the city need about his Lulu. I hope Jen didn't have anything to do with it.
What I like most about the book was how realistic it could be. Many books have 3 year olds articulating like the 8 year old kids in this book, which does not make sense because at 3 your vocabulary would not be that advance so definitely a good read!
Omg yessssss This Book was everything I don’t no what took me so long to read this book it’s so good I love zoo even tho he’s rude af but I love him I hope they work things out
Zoo was beyond crazy. Jen is a hater in every sense of the word. I don't know how Ramsey didn't see it from the get go. Then that ending hope that Jen gets exactly what she has coming to her. Hope that everything works out for Ramsey, Zoo, Luchi, and Lulu.
This is a good book. Zoo is a bit over the top at times to the point he can be annoying but then he loves those kids so much you have to like him. Being from Kentucky I like reading something from here.
This story was fire!!! It was recommended by one of my Facebook book groups and it did not disappoint. I love how Zoo met Ramsey and her kids and took them under his wing!! I love single mom storyline. I can’t wait to jump in part 2.
Omgggg that cliffhanger! Although I understand his pain, Zoo is really on my nerves. Ramsey needs to keep her stance and continue to boss up until he works out his problems. This was such a good read and I'm nervous and excited to jump right into pt 2
I am so glad I decided to pick up this book. I can't get enough of these characters and everything going on in their lives. The past is hindering their future. That cliffhanger tells a big secret. On to part two.
Even though I read this series last year I had to spin the block again so I can be caught up for the last book, my favorite character is most definitely Luchi that little boy don’t care what comes out of his mouth. If you haven’t read this series I highly recommend that you do.
Chile this was a ride. Zoo rude af, the kids bad as hell and they all putting Ramsey through it. I got all the emotions reading this. This was a good messy time. My girl Ramsey just can’t win. Definitely recommend.
Ramsey and Zouk were a trip. I hope they get it together bethey do make a cute couple. Lunchi and Luna are adorable but that Lunchi bad as hell. On to part two.
