A synopsis of the original bookEditorial ReviewChapter-by-chapter breakdownsKey takeaways & analysis from each section About the Original Obesity is a bigger problem than anyone imagined and its rates have increased rapidly over the years. Since it’s an epidemic spreading its tentacles worldwide, it’s now critical that we find a solution to this nagging problem. There are way too many studies and trials conducted out there, and while some diets may suggest that you consume foods with low carbohydrates, other diets may suggest something else. It can get pretty confusing, and that’s perhaps why most dieters give up. The Obesity Code focuses on the intake of traditional, unprocessed foods that have been forgotten long ago. This book covers everything from the science behind the foods you're eating to what you should eat at each meal. Understanding diet and exercise are NOT the key to weight loss is the first step to breaking the Obesity Code. BEFORE YOU The purpose of this FastReads Summary is to help you decide if it’s worth the time, money and effort reading the original book (if you haven’t already). FastReads has pulled out the essence—but only to help you ascertain the value of the book for yourself. This analysis is meant as a supplement to, and not a replacement for, The Obesity Code.

It is a nice book on obesity and how to get rid of it. This book has busted myths like eating fewer calories will help in losing weight. The author has addressed all the parts of nutrition and tried to explain and give an overview of what can be consumed and what should be avoided. I will definitely recommend this one.

I am fairly knowledgeable about health and the science behind losing weight. But more of the basic sort of science. There are individuals who struggle more with obesity and they need more of this detailed science due to their genetics or lifestyle.

For this reason, I love this book. It accepts the basic science we know about losing weight and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. But also recognizes these scientific principles which are necessary for some people to avoid obesity. This book covers those principles and debunks a lot of methods people believe are helping them lose weight. Then they get confused why it doesn’t stick.

This book is what people need sometimes. They watch a news segment on losing weight or follow the Atkins diet, then something doesn’t add up and they feel like they have failed. When it is not the individual who has failed, but the bogus information. This book is the antidote to that terrible information. Such a good read. I highly suggest.

This was great!

They took out Dr. Fung's extensive sourcing and technical explanation, and left the easily digestible points. The bullet points at the end of each chapter summary highlighted the most critical technical stuff. I have been struggling to read the Obesity Code for weeks and I finished this in an hour. I can't recommend this enough! I really feel like I got the most important information from the book.

Quick and to the point

This book gives a good overview. Sometimes the takeaway did not fully match the content because it was not explained in depth. However, this book is an excellent starting point.

Great information. As expected from books of this type a little dry. However, I liked what I read, and the information was very helpful to me.

I'm sure there is much more to the book, but having a quick summary of it was great!

It was pretty good, but glosses over several items I would have liked a more in depth explanation on. I suppose to do that, I have to buy the bigger book. There is some great information.
