An exciting action thriller

I couldn't put it down. Great story with characters you can identify with. There is a conspiracy or so it seems, and the protagonist Scott gets drawn in deeper and deeper. This quite a fast-paced story with twists and turns and evil people who want to control the world's markets. It is quite well written and will keep you guessing until the end. I also recommend his cards in the deck books.

The best thriller I've read in years

Robert Stanek weaves a web of darkness and thrills as a plot against America unfolds. The main character, Scott Evers, has been betrayed and framed by the agency he loves. His wife is pregnant with their first child and expecting soon. The only thing he can do to save himself is make a deal with the devil. The writing is excellent and the plot full of turns to keep you guessing.

Captivating, a must read!

The opening sequence had me turning pages and then the central plot kept me guessing to the end. The characters are some of the most real I've ever met between the pages of a book. Fantastic writing and plotting, plenty of twists and turns. Mystery wrapped around mystery..

Tightly plotted and well done

Weaves an intense web of intrigue around a plot to destroy the world's financial markets. Really eerie prescience on the part of the author, given what happened in the meltdown a few short years later. Becoming a huge fan fibrous author, especially if he keeps writing stories like this.

Here I go again reading this series for the second time!

Robert Stanek provides a rich tale complete with high-tech gadgets, plots within plots, and special agents. The main character, Scott Evers, breaks all the stereotypes of the genre. He's married, he cares about other people, he really wants to do the right thing.

Give it a read. This book is great.

I just finished this book last night and it's about the tenth one I've read and loved by Robert Stanek. Yes, I know I'm a bit behind in discovering this author. I became totally engrossed in the story from the start. I was up until 2 a.m. reading it. It's the kind of story that stays with you even after you finish the book.

Definitely a good one

Agent Scott Evers is trying to get his life back and has an encounter with a mysterious woman on the morning of Christmas Eve. Meanwhile he's being watched by the agency that's hunting him That's how it starts and the story takes off from there. Plenty of action, drama, mystery.

Loved this!

Was hooked from the start with the twisty web unfolding as Scot watches those watching him. Scott Evers is a brilliantly conceived character. An agent on the run from his own agency with a pregnant wife caught up in everything that's happening.

Action-packed mystery thriller

The author weaves a web of intrigue and pulls the reader in from the start. As others have said, the writing is very, very good and the story even better. Scott Evers is one of the most interesting thing to happen to spy thrillers since James Bond.
