This "my first reader" is all about self-confidence...even stressing "I don't care what some kids say."

This book begins badly, with a difficult phrase for ELLs (to fit in at school) and with a boy criticizing his ears as too big and his legs as too thin. The bad ending is centered around the fact that he's smart so he's ok with himself. Yikes. However, it is easy to read for ELLs, so if they are old enough to get past the toxic messages, it might be ok to use. Don't spend money on it!
