One of her novels, A Pocketful Of Paradise, was made into a CBS-TV movie called The Soul Collector, starring Melissa Gilbert, Bruce Greenwood and Ossie Davis. Maureen writes paranormal romance novels under the pesudonym of Regan Hastings
Fiance in Name Only was a nice quick read. I enjoyed the short romance between Michah and Kelly. They seem really cute together. They are one of the opposites attract couples. Michah likes big cities and Kelly likes small towns. Kelly is use to making sure she stays busy with other people while Michah likes to stay to himself. They find away to make it through the and make it work though.
Make-believe romance has never felt so real! Bestselling (murder mystery author) Micah Hunter lives a nomadic life, only staying some in hotels six months at a time. His mother left him when he was six, a trail of foster homes followed, and then life in the navy added to this –wandering lifestyle. Temporarily settling in a small town for research is outside his comfort zone. Only his tantalizing landlady can lure him from the isolation of his rented mansion. Because (Realtor, storefront artist, snow removal, widowed landlady) Kelly Flynn stirs him as no woman ever has. And she needs his help. To placate her grandmother, and keep her from leaving Florida where she’s happy, to return to Utah to keep Kelly from being alone, Kelly asks Micah to pretend they’re engaged. He relishes the chance to be with Kelly…until acting like they’re in love begins to feel like more than an act! So, he runs, even though she’s pregnant and didn’t beg him to stay.
A little too... insta-love cheesy? Usually this is kinda cheesy plot I like, but this one just didn’t seem as plausible or something? Why would you tell your grandmother you got engaged to someone you barely know cause somehow you think she would be happy? Couldn’t you say something more realistic like you started dating even though it’s not quite as sensational? Also who thinks getting engaged to someone you’ve known less than 3 months is even a good idea.?!? If I was her grandmother I’d be worried they guy was an axe murderer even if he was a famous author. You can cover up a lot of crazy for a short amount of time. Just saying. The ending is almost too sickly sweet. I kinda expected that and sometimes even like it, but it was still like eating too much sugar and making your teeth hurt.
Micah is a writer that goes from place to place when writing a novel. Kelly owns the Victorian he is staying in for six months...He usually stays cooped up bu he looks out one day and sees her....He decides to go look through town since he is writing about a small town and ends up taking Kelly to get pumpkins. They start spending some time together...Micah takes her away for a weekend...But Micah is gun shy on love and relationships because of his child hood. Can he over come that to be what Kelly wants and needs...Can Kelly quit comparing him to her late husband..A very sweet book of overcoming love and loss to become a family

Great story, an author that moves around to get away from his fans that keep finding him, while he writes his next best seller. What happens when he comes up against his landlady? Will he be able to settle down and enjoy love?
"Micah and Kelly come from two different worlds and watching those worlds collide makes for a sizzling battle between doing what's comfortable and following your heart. When they finally stop denying their attraction, the results are explosive and sexy as hell. The subject of loss is approached in a thoughtful way and highlights Kelly's strength as she learns to move on despite the heartache of grief. Micah has endured a different type of loss while growing up in the foster system, his life having been shaped by those lonely years, but it's the lies he tells himself that almost keep him from accepting the love Kelly offers. Utah provides the perfect setting for this cozy autumn romance!" (4 1/2 stars TOP PICK! @ RT Book Reviews)
