We meet Chann, an Archaeological Anthropologist working for the exploration company and follow her role as a planner of the voyage. We also meet her sister who discovers Chann's secret and comes into a conflict if sorts with her job and her family's interests.
The unfolding of the relationship between the Earthlings and the Sapients from Arw'an is full of surprises and takes the reader from one side of the universe to the other at a rapid rate.
The eventual and inevitable violent clash of cultures and the effect it has on the families from Arw'an and Earth leave us in no doubt as to the future of the planet Arw'an, the jewel of the known universe.
