My children love the DK books and this was a welcome addition to their library. A nice chunky hardback which is going to stand the test of time; the pages are also also hard-wearing, only paper, but glossy and easy to grip. This should reduce rips and wear and tear.

Of course, it's the content that counts and this book is absolutely jammed full of facts. There's no need to list the entire contents here, however you can be very satisfied that your children, from tots to teens, will find a favourite page/subject. There's such scope, from animals, space, physics, biology, language, history, the list just goes on and on. They are each presented with large illustrations or many smaller ones, and each spread has 13 facts and a special 1/2 one, which debunks popular misconception - adults will learn a thing or two there. In fact, I was surprised by how few of these facts I had retained and found them interesting too.

A fab book, bursting with vibrant imagery and information. Another must-have from DK!

This is a brilliant big glossy hardback book with over 50 amazing topics covered. I won it on Goodreads and decided to try it out on my husband and teenage stepson over Christmas to gauge their reaction to it. They loved the fact it was fully illustrated and covered topics from Exploded Earth to Curious Cats with something in there for everyone. There are 176 pages and 13 1/2 incredible fascinating facts on each topic and a book that we came back to again and again over the Christmas period, to read, share and quiz each other on. Definitely a book we will treasure for now and future grandchildren. It is well worth the money and I have already recommended it to several people.

My nieces, nephew, and I really enjoyed this collection of fascinating science facts, which were beautifully presented with rich and authentic photographs alongside thirteen-and-a-half key bits of information related to each topic. The indexing and headings made it particularly easy to jump from topic to topic, and the book had enough content to keep us coming back to it again and again (we typically read one to three sections per sitting, and there were about 80 different sections). Not too spendy for a book either, but we went with the library since kids tend to burn through books faster than parental/uncle budgets can usually accommodate.

Incredible take on just about everything, with exploded pictures or just plain great photos, all laid out in a Folio format with 13and 1/2 fact to accompany each subject.

No getting bored here, as the material jumps from Samurai Armor to Cats, to fungi, to you name it.

Gorgeous book in typical DK Fashion.

Can't resist a DK book, never disappointed.

I gave this book to my niece and she just loved it. All of the topics were so interesting and I really appreciate how it seemed none of the facts were oversimplified yet it was really accessible for her. I would completely recommend this book as it was great quality.

I love the layout of this book! I love all the dynamic pictures and interesting facts, this book is always a joy to read. I've had it since the year it was published and it's still as intriguing to me as it was 5 years ago.

I received this book as part of Goodreads Giveaways. I am very impressed with the quality of the photographs and the layout of the pages. I found the different topics interesting and engaging and the inclusion of the 'myth busting' fact is a great idea. It is going to make the perfect present for a friend's son.

The only criticism I have is that DK need to sort out their packaging - the book came in a jiffy envelope and was dinged in two places.
