Caroling Through The Psalms: Dramatic, Singable, Recitable Psalms

Rate this book
Comfort and Joy? These are feelings that are often lost during the hype of cheer at Christmastime and in commercial music. These carols are singable true psalms. While they portray the waiting of Advent from human complexity, they are grounded in the hope and truth of God's intimate presence as witnesses have recorded in scripture.

Psalm Hymns is comprised of Psalm 1 through Psalm 89 from the Bible. Each has its own notes relaying from which Psalm it comes and the meaning behind its words. They also have a musical tune reference accompanying the hymn lyrics, many that are familiar to church musicians and choirs such as I’ll Fly Away, Leaning on the Everlasting Arm, His Eye is on the Sparrow and Amazing Grace. Even though the tunes for these hymns are familiar, the lyrics themselves are different.

Accompanying the Psalm Hymn Book is Caroling through the Psalms that include wonderful hymns set to Christmas tunes for the enjoyment of all during the holiday season.

I recommend these books for Music Directors, Choirs, Soloists, Praise Teams, and individuals wanting fresh interchangeable lyrics to old hymn songs.

I received these books free through the Book Crash reviewer program in exchange for an honest opinion in accordance with the guidelines of the Federal Trade Commission Guidelines.

If you are a worship leader or teaching you child from home this book is a great source of inspirational thoughts, songs, and Psalms. It is not the type of book you sit down and read cover to cover but rather it is a great resource for adding to your music collection.

Caroling Through the Psalms adapted by L.L. Larkin is a beautiful collection of Psalms to sing throughout the Christmas seaon. More than that the words will bring comfort and joy to whoever sings or listens to them.

While singing, reciting and memorizing the words individuals gain a deeper connection with God. The Psalms can be seen as prayers, praise and worship during one's personal time or along with others.

Although this book was intended for the Christmas season, it appears to me that it can be used all year round. Church leaders, choir directors and Christian singers will appreciate the value of this collection. Lastly, the cover is a wonderful representation of God's creations.
