That's All Me: Camilla & Ja'Keem

Rate this book
Ja’Keem Martelle is a junior at the University of Baton Rouge, and is at the top of his class. Even though, he's book smart, he can't seem to leave the streets alone. He's his dad's protégé, and perhaps better than him. Ja’Keem met Camilla Jones their freshman year at UBR. From that fateful day, they’ve been inseparable. He can't seem to leave her alone, either, but that doesn't mean he's ready to be tied down.
Ja’Keem refuses to put a title on what he and Camilla have, because he’s enjoying the college lifestyle, as well as the streets. He has the best of both worlds, and doesn’t see a reason to change. Camilla is no lame, though. She knows her worth, and demands her respect. However, when it’s all said and done, will Camilla be able to say “that’s all me” without looking stupid?

That thug love! Forever all me!

Camilla and Ja'Keem were a mess, break up just to make up and in the end it all worked out. I enjoyed this novel a lot even though it was very long in length it held my attention. The friends and family were wild! I was so glad she mended the brokenness with her mom and Keem realized it was time to make a change, the streets only held jail or death. My biggest complaint was there were entirely too many grammatical errors! Missed words, wrong words, misspelled words, editing is a must, hence 4 stars instead of 5! Overall a great story!

MiMi&Keem 💕💕💕

This is my first read by this author and I must say I enjoyed it especially because it’s about college love l, and friendships something I cherish the most. I’m so happy Keem grew because he was pissing me off being selfish af. I respect Camilla for not being a whole goofy for keem although she forgave him hella quick. Keem is definitely daddy material smart, funny, and most determined to be someone in life. I can’t wait to see what’s next!!

This book was really good. Cion writing flows effortlessly and the point of view from current characters from other books is chefs kiss. It’s the same timeline from everyone else’s Point of view and that’s mind blowing and well thought out.

‘Her Heart Won’t Let Me Lose Her…Her Heart…

Jakeem Martelle and Camilla Jones are Not your average college students of University of Baton Rouge. Jakeem has both feet in the school of higher learning and both hands in the streets handling business that he’s been groomed for since a young boy. Camilla is your average good girl that has remained chaste despite dating a couple of guys, but she can’t release her treasure when her heart belongs to one who is unworthy of her love. Keem loves Camilla but he’s enjoying the fruit of his labor as a young king, he’s feasting on the spread of money, fame and ladies…there’s no limit to his guilty pleasures until he looks into the eyes of Milla. The connection as well as the relationship would seem as if it should be simple, but it’s really complicated because their chemistry is sizzling, but their dynamics are schizo. Will Keem be able to get his past under control and chill long enough to secure Camilla’s heart? Can Camilla trust him with her whole heart when yesterday continues to burst through the doors of today and the promise of tomorrow? Their crew only heightens the drama and there is always something popping off.

That’s All Me is an interesting read despite the common storyline of young love. Charismatic characters, vibrant storylines, realistic occurrences all meld together for an eventful read. The making up to break up scenes did prove to become redundant, almost boring and mos def annoying at times. Toward the end, it began to feel stretched, I think she could have omitted some pages and it wouldn’t have decreased the momentum of TAM. I do suggest the author invest more time with the editing process in future projects, because this is a good read, with a little more time, it had the potential to be a great read. I commend Cion Lee for a standalone read. She told their story and shut that thang down! Kudo’s to you for daring to be different. 4.38

Editing

Book was decent but the editing was HORRIBLE! I know many authors don’t like readers saying that but it’s so true when it takes away from the reading. Authors please make sure you read over your work and your publisher hires a GOOD editor.

I tried hard to like it

This book was all over the place. 1st there were
Way too many irrelevant characters and it made it hard to read. Secondly Keem’s character was by far the worst, he was such a hypocrite and so arrogant it made me not even want to read the book, I had to force myself to finish it. Camilla was soooo weak that it was disgusting, how are letting a little boy run your life like that. The book was also very unrealistic, how is everyone able to afford Chanel and Gucci and Versace at the age of 20 and in college.

Good!!!!

There was some misspelled words within this book. The story was good. Keem and Milla were natural fools. I hoped they would have gotten it together. I would have loved to know if Jamaya walked again and if Janae had her baby. What happened between Ari and her sister? Also what happened between Juri and Benji?

Bravo 👏

When I tell you I felt like me and Mimi was the same person baby I meant that. I was clutching my Kindle super hard from the action they had going on in this book. I am from the 0017 so baby I really appreciate how much our culture was appropriated and accurately described also. I definitely have become a fan of Ms. Lee.

Loved It!!!

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I loved it. There were some minor errors but the story kept my interest from beginning to end. I absolutely adore the relationship between Keem and Camilla. I need some more of their story, I see marriage and babies in their future. Keem is BAE!!! Very good read!!

A good read for the summer

Keem and Milla got on my damn nerves with the back and forth. Once they finally got it together, I was happy for them. All that drama was too much. Now I hope that there is more to the story because that ending is not enough for me!!

🥱🥱🥱

At this point I’m over urban fiction, it’s the same stories over & over!! Boy meets girl, girl falls in love & let boy run over her like a welcoming door mat never holding him accountable for his actions, she gets done dirty but some how he’s the victim 🙄

the book is good but there was problems in it. For example, camila think everything is funny and it ain’t like when it’s a bad situation and she gotta smile or laugh about it. she immature and childish for her big age. The only thing i sympathize with her is about what her mom told her about what happened with her and being done dirty by Keem. But her duck ass is so weak minded because in other books she seem quiet and a bad bitch but in here she is whiny, immature, slow, and dumb. Like keem be gaslighting and placing the blame on her for everything and calling her bad names and she believes it or feel guilty. Like the situation with Lanae. He did her dirty with that shit and lied and making her look stupid in public. Got everyone thinking she crazy for it and it was true. Her madness with that lasted a few business days and ran back to the nigga because she miss the D or some shit. It was hypocritical with the relationship because once she found out about it, Keem stupid ass slept with that bum broad with the quickness like he wasn’t just begging to have her back but he got mad with that photo shit with keyon? Like BFFR. They gonna end up like keem parents toxic relationship. And what is camila job because in felisha book she said she was a famous social media influencer and youtuber but in this book she is a leacher and say she want to be a broadcast journalism. it mentions twitter but only when someone getting exposed from her friends phones or the dudes. Keem is trifling. He dumps her the. sleep with a ow but once Mila do her, he get hypocritical about the shit. And i swear that he is slow and he say he super smart but he seem dumb asf to me. How he ruthless in the streets but still asks for help from his cousin johan. He let him figure everything else out and barely did anything. Keem might as well focus more on school than the streets. He only street thing of doing is that weak ass beef with that lame ass nigga Deniro. Btw did they murder kids in that house? I feel like Mila forgave too easily and never let anyone work for it much. Like her mother and Keem. Her mother was barely a parent to her sense birth and now changing once she freshly pregnant and back with her ex. Like they should of took her to therapy or something because allat seem too fast to me. Like all of sudden she told her daughter why she was that way and Mila stupid ass be wondering why her mother depressed and shit? She should of figured something was wrong and got her help. But Mila should of made her mother work more as a mother to her because now she having a do over with the new baby and everybody else kids. It’s weird. They relationship seem unrealistic to me because she should’ve resented her mother for not being the mother to her than how she is to the new baby. Camila is hardheaded and impulsive and same as Keem. They a match make in hell. All them niggas need to let Juri have some space and she needs to slow down too because she bopping because of how Benji doing her wrong. She should let his short ass go. She foul too and get mad with his relationship with Dom. Like girl he got kids with the broad. looking stupid and everything. Keem mom is dumb and childish. that broad in her 40s and still acting like a teen. Remember the scene when she was online posting a pic with keem dad because he be bopping with younger girls. 🤦🏽‍♀️ she acting like them side chicks. she going out sad. it’s like she telling them he know where home is at. I was annoyed for her exposing felisha pregnancy and she wanted to tell Julian mom herself and keem mom ruined that. i like felisha but she got dumb with julian and i don’t like that nigga and didn’t want her with him at all. He made himself out to be a victim and he ruined their relationship. Going back and forth with Janae and Gabby he cheated on her since they met and blame her like she hurt or did anything bad to him. He shot at her while they son in the house and it could’ve got that child, mad bc she moving on to the next nigga. Didn’t he sleep with the girl he told that they was just “friends”? He immediately got with that crazy hoe because felisha dumped him. Felisha is a victim in that relationship and that’s sad. Her and tarik could have been a better couple to me. chanel and blaze seem cute but chanel acts childish but she still a teenager and blaze gives me ick vibes like the bugga still hunching with the ex and gaslighting chanel but chanel already knows so she got to lay in the trashy ass mess. jigga is trifling and daise should of not gotten back with him. He literally left her after getting drafted and cheated on her with a instagram hoe. Then got the broad pregnant too. I swear they make all the men victims and the women got to beg them back. Felisha was close but she failed. But enjoyable book! Hope the grammar and better names get fixed. the same names need to be different. all of these juniors or t,j,b first names and shit

There was waaaaaay too much drama going on in this book. Honestly, most of the drama was repetitive and felt like it unnecessarily dragged this book out longer than it needed to be. This relationship was super toxic and being the intolerant type of person I am when it comes to disrespect, reading about the constant disrespect and toxicity all of the characters showed one another but still chose to keep going back into the same toxic relationship turned me off from this book. I guess I can’t understand it or relate because I simply did not grow up in that type of environment nor was I raised to accept that type of treatment from anyone, much less my significant other. I have been the good girl that dated a hustler in my early college young adult years and NEVER dealt with the type of toxicity and disrespect that Camilla dealt with from Ja’Keem and vice versa. The amount of breaking up and getting back together made no sense. While I love me a book with drama, this was a bit much for me. I couldn’t enjoy it.

4.5⭐

This was my first read from this author and it started off a little rocky for me. I wasn't sure I wanted to read an entire story of messy, childish teenagers. But as the story went on, I was so intrigued with the storyline I couldn't put it down. I was very happy to see the growth in Camilla because Baby Girl was super childish! Lol I honestly thought, even with Keem's ways, he was still mature for his age. The seriousness he took with his education and even Camilla's education made my educator heart pleased. The song lyrics at the beginning of and in every chapter got annoying, but they really did fit the story so I couldn't be mad at it, it was just a little much for me. Overall, I enjoyed the story and look forward to catching up with the rest of the crew.
