Rate this book

Book 1: Their Kidnapped Bride-
Emma James felt secure in her life. Money, social standing and the protection of her step-brother. Or so she thought. When she discovers his dark secrets, he turns on her and sells her to a western brothel to keep her quiet. There, she's forced to work or participate in an auction. A virgin auction ... and she's the prize.

One look at Emma James and Whitmore Kane and Ian Stewart know she would belong to them. Marriage was the only way to truly claim her...so they bid and bid well. As their bride, they return to the Bridgewater Ranch and teach her the ways to please not one husband, but two. But danger has tracked Ian around the world and threatens their newfound relationship. Together, can they fight the demons of the past while forging a future?

Book 2: Their Wayward Bride
When Laurel Sinclair's uncaring father seeks to pawn her off in marriage as part of a business deal, she seeks to avoid her fate by fleeing. But running away in a Montana blizzard proves to be a terrible mistake.

When handsome ranchers Mason and Brody find the stranded redhead next to her injured horse, they take her in and immediately decide to make her theirs, convinced they can convert the beautiful stranger to an unusual arrangement of marrying them both.

The Bridgewater way of one woman marrying two husbands is foreign to Laurel, but she soon grows to love the two protective men who awaken her to a world of carnal pleasures she never knew existed. She grows to love them for their guidance and protection.

But will her happiness be threatened by the secret she harbours? Will Mason and Brody still love her if they discover who she is? And what will happen when her scheming father and the cruel man he wanted her to marry finally track her down?

Book 3: Their Captivated Bride
The Bridgewater way of two men marrying one woman is uncommon in the Montana territory. But three men marrying one woman? That is unheard of, especially for beautiful Olivia Weston. Her fate, it seems, will have her married to one man - a man she doesn't love.

But when her betrothed treats her in a cruel manner, she rejects him and not long afterwards catches the eye of three handsome and virile ranchers. Cross, Rhys and Simon are as different as three men can be. But they have one thing in common; they are determined to offer Olivia the protection of marriage and the promise of endless carnal pleasures.

Olivia worries that her instant attraction and hasty agreement to marry three men stems from a defect in her character. What kind of woman not just love three men, but make the most intimate parts of herself available to their lustful attention? The chemistry between them is like lightning. Can she deny it? Or will Olivia submit to become the most sated Bridgewater wife in this ongoing ménage series?

These men are looking for a special woman

First of all, I loved the stories and the Bridgewater men. They’re protective and loving and loyal. The love making and wooing are tastefully and well written. I also liked that the brides aren’t simpering damsels in distress - although all are in some predicament.
What I like less was the instant way the relationships grew, I would have preferred more build-up. Especially since the books are in a historical setting and I don’t expect the women would abandon what they have been taught to be proper.

2 Meh Smut Scale Stars!

These stories don't have a ton of plot and are quite ridiculous but if you're looking for some smutty menage then you hit the jackpot.

Their Kidnapped Bride (Bridgewater Series Book 2)
MARRIAGE AUCTION OR BROTHEL

The story is another great tale in the Bridgewater series—where each book reads as a stand-alone and could be read in any order. The story will have mention of other members of this unique community of individuals. Bridgewater is a town in Montana that has the uncommon practice of more than one husband per wife—a Mohamian custom adopted by soldiers who served in Mohamir.

Emma James is living with her step-brother, Thomas, and his family. Having lost both of her parents, first her mother and then her wealthy father, she lives a very comfortable life. But sinister plans by Thomas will change everything after witnessing a carnal scene by accident, and waking up in a brothel, she will be given options by Mrs. Pratt, the madam in charge.

“What choice do you make: Work here or marry the highest bidder?” –Mrs. Pratt
“I’ll take the marriage auction.” –Emma

The auction is humiliating to Emma, wearing only a translucent shift and being bid on by a small group of wealthy men. Not looking but hearing comments and the words sold and not to one , but two men. What will become of Emma? A quick but legal marriage and then she will be at the mercy of Kane and Ian.

“We are your husbands. We will touch you. As our wife, you belong to us. It is our job to keep you safe, to see to your happiness, to your pleasure. Beginning now.”

The story includes voyeurism, kidnapping, humiliation, spankings, and ménage scenes. It has Emma aroused from witnessing a couple and then being at the mercy of two men that are now her husbands. Knowing and seeing what happens between couples and experiencing it is a bit different. While Kane and Ian understand their bride is a virgin, they also see she is aroused and submissive. Dominance and submission are critical to them, and they will play her mind and her body as she surrenders to their will. Learning the Bridgewater way, seeing another Bridgewater couple, is shocking and arousing too.

“If your men are offering you pleasure. Take it. Accept it. Enjoy it.”

The story has some mystery and suspense, along with explicit sex scenes. I would have liked to see Emma’s step-brother, Thomas, being dealt with by her husbands—maybe in another story. Trouble is afloat for Ian, and when he goes to confront it, it isn’t what he suspects. But when Emma takes matters in her own hands, that is when her husbands must show her, it isn’t her place to protect them; it is theirs to protect her—it is the Bridgewater way.

Their Wayward Bride (Bridgewater Menage Series Book 3)
MASON, LAUREL, AND BRODY

The story is another great tale in the Bridgewater series—where each book reads as a stand-alone and could be read in any order. The story will have mention of other members of this unique community of individuals. Bridgewater is a town in Montana that has the uncommon practice of more than one husband per wife—a Mohamian custom adopted by soldiers who served in Mohamir.

What a shock when Laurel’s father, Nolan Turner, brings her from Denver to his home in Montana and informs her he has made arrangements for her marriage. But this isn’t happy news; it is to a Mr. Palmer, a man more than twice her age. Knowing she must escape, she will leave on a horse heading to town, but the snow becomes a blizzard, and she is lost—but death would be better than what her future holds.

Mason and Brody are preparing for this whiteout blizzard. Mason will go out to bring in more wood and hears a horse—knowing none of the Bridgewater animals should be out; he informs Brody he must investigate. Finding a horse that is saddled and injured leads him to discover its rider, and when he brings her inside, he and Brody must work to keep her alive. Looking at each other, they know immediately---she is the one for them.

“It wasn’t an easy task, finding a woman who would marry two men, for that was what we’d have—a wife for both of us. That was our way, the way of the men of Bridgewater—find a woman, make her ours, cherish, protect and possess her for the rest of our lives.”

The story brings Laurel to be found by Mason and rescued by him and Brody during a blizzard. These men are dominant, and while they preserve her virginity, they take her virtue, and they make her feel wanted, needed, protected, and possessed. But that can’t be right—two men and one woman. If they find out who her father is, will they return her to him?

“No one, ever, saw to my needs first. No one had ever cared for me. The love I saw in the trio was heartwarming and heart-rending, for I knew now what I’d been missing.”

The story has the good, the bad, and the ugly of people. Mason and Brody know that Laurel is the one for them—but they also know that Laurel is hiding secrets. When danger comes calling to Bridgewater, will they be able to protect her? Will she want to stay with them? Will her secrets lead to trouble for this community? Mystery, suspense, danger, explicit sex scenes, humiliation, passion, and possession all make up this tale of dominance, submission, and power exchange.

“We wouldn’t give you back to Turner. Don’t you see? We’re never giving you back. You’re ours.”

Their Captivated Bride (Bridgewater Menage Series Book 4)
LIGHTNING AND LOVE

The story is another great tale in the Bridgewater series—where each book reads as a stand-alone and could be read in any order. The story will have mention of other members of this unique community of individuals. Bridgewater is a town in Montana that has the uncommon practice of more than one husband per wife—a Mohamian custom adopted by soldiers who served in Mohamir.

Clayton Peters will threaten Olivia, and with the aid of her Uncle Allen, she will be protected, but they both know this isn’t the end of their problems. At a local dance, she will meet two unique men who grab her attention. Her Uncle has always told her, you’ll know by the lightning you will feel—but why does she feel this for two men she just met?

“When I find the right man, it will feel like I’ve been struck by lightning.”

Cross, Rys, and Simon are in Helena to purchase a stud stallion for their ranch back in Bridgewater. While Simon is busy making the deal to buy the horse, Rys and Cross will attend a local dance, where they meet Olivia and know she is the one for them. Simon has yet to meet her, but when a fire happens at her home in the night—that will change, and with the encouragement and blessings of her Uncle, she will be married shortly after that and then moved to Bridgewater and kept safe.

“You said you felt a connection, a spark with them, that you were worried about being attracted to two men at the same time. Your head may be telling you it is wrong, but your heart will always tell the truth.”

The story has the good, the bad, the ugly, and the nightmares. For Cross, Rys and Simon, they have each had their share of troubles and worries. But when it comes to taking Olivia as their wife, it is the perfect solution. She was meant to be theirs. They need to get her back to their home in Bridgewater. They will protect her from danger and keep her safe.

“Bridgewater is my home now. Your home. It is where our future is. You are our future.”

Trouble will come, and her quick thinking and actions will make the difference. Olivia is smart enough not to believe the lies she is being told. She will flee and try to find her men, and when lost, she is smart enough to seek a safe place until they can find her. Mystery, suspense, danger, explicit sex scenes, passion, and possession all make up this tale of dominance, submission, and ménage.

“I’m right where I want to be, between the three of you. It means I belong to all of you. Not one at a time, but all of you at the same time, for that’s how it is, in here.”

Vanessa Vale's "Their Kidnapped Bride" is the first tale in the Bridgewater Menage series. I've read other books in the series, so I thought I would come back and see how it all started. I really liked getting to know some of the larger storylines that surround each of the standalone tales in the series. As usual, there are plenty of hot sexy scenes. The leading men are super hot. I definitely need to go back and read every book in the series.

Vanessa Vale's "Their Wayward Bride" is the second book in the Bridgewater Menage series, but you can read it as a standalone. I loved it! I rarely give a straight 5 stars, but this one deserves it. Mason and Brody are totally sexy. Laurel is strong and curvy and beautiful. This series is just so amazing! I can't wait to read #3!

Vanessa Vale's "Their Captivated Bride" is the third tale in the Bridgewater Menage series. You can read it as a standalone, but why would you want to? This one has a different flavor to it. Olivia builds up an amazing bond with her three men - Simon, Rhys, and Cross. Each has his own troubles, and yet their come together perfectly. They protect her and she heals them. I am loving the series and have already ordered #4 and #5!

I got this bundle at a low price, so I'm inclined to be nicer in my review. I reviewed each story as I read them and gave the first two stories 4 stars, the third story 3 stars and the last story 5 stars. My one 5 star rating was because there was finally more romance, tenderness and patience in that 4th story. The first three felt a lot more like dubious consent and men taking advantage of naive/virgin women in impossible situations. Their choices were to marry and submit or live in horrible circumstances. Not much of a choice even though the men cared for the women and vowed to treat them well. A little romance and patience was really needed in those first three stories.

Overall, I enjoyed them knowing what I was reading and not expecting some grand romances. I'm hoping for another low priced bundle of additional stories in this series.

THEIR RUNAWAY BRIDE was prety good quick read. It was introduction of what to expect of the series.

THEIR KIDNAPPER BRIDE may be a good story but it wasn't for me. Have too much reference to Dom/Sub play.

THEIR WAYWARD BRIDE was too rushed and unbelievable. Mason and Brody spring sexual things on Laurel like there's no tomorrow. And her reaction to it all... It's supposed to be historical, if it was in present, her reaction would be understandable, but it's a time when women were sheltered.
And once again I would say it have Dom/Sub play, but the more I read the more it feels like males have all control and doesn't matter what she wants.

Hot Cowboys...

Vanessa Vale must be one of the best writers of Cowboy Ménage with this box set of the Bridgewater Boys finding their brides.
With gentle persuasion the men are up front and honest with their intentions as they bring their unique form of love.
These story’s are fast paced, steamy and a HEA guaranteed.

Hmmmm, I’m honestly not sure

I’m not sure how to describe these books, definitely a bit of escapism. There’s very little actual story to link the constant sex. Each book features a different set of men on the same ranch looking for a wife they can all share. This box set had four books but it’s almost the same story written over and over again.

Great set of menage books!

Loved this set! My first time reading this author and can't wait to read more! I liked the old fashioned language along with modern language as well. If you like menage books you can't go wrong with these!

Many husbands afoot

This collection of stories all deal with the premise that you can love more than one person. Each story, while similar, is different in its own way. The steam is all over the place, everyplace, which is sometimes a little much, but otherwise entertaining.

Wow.

Lots of action, spice, sass and thrills. Took me a bit to get used to reading the language as it is a historical series and uses the old world words as a result. However it was a good read. The prequel and first three books were interesting.

If you're looking for something to rev your engine...

These stories will do it. A little bit of angst, a baddie or two, and a whole lot of sexy times with some sweet generous men.

Okay read

Historical ménage stories about Bridgwater and the people living there. Men are very alpha and strict and women all virgins. Felt a bit repetitive at times.

Great collection!

I love these standalone, yet entwined, stories! Olivia seems like an interesting character, and I'd love to read more about her and how she fits in on the ranch.

Take away the sex and there's nothing left

The first book is at least light and fun though completely lacking in content.
The second devolves quickly into a "how to train your sub" manual. There were no emotions involved, the characters were flat and stupid. Didn't bother continuing to the third.

Standalone. 3rd person triple pov. No violence. Steamy, including various bdsm training sessions.
